Product Description

Lachlan Downy was a lover, not a fighter.

Okay, he wouldn't lie, he was a fighter, too. But nobody had to know that. Especially not Memphis Tennessee Conner and her stuffy attitude when it came to cops and ‘men like him.’

Memphis knew cops. Her daddy was a cop. He was also the president of a motorcycle club. Needless to say, he’s about as alpha as they come, and she’s tired of overbearing men who think they know how to run her life better than she does.

So when Downy comes into her life running his smooth talking mouth, she realizes that she’ll have to stand strong against his pretty words and promises to give her what she needs.

Downy is determined, though.

He’s the hostage negotiator for KPD SWAT, and he’s never met a person, man or woman, he couldn't talk around into his way of thinking.

Although, Memphis is about to show him just how much he miscalculated.

Seems Downy may not be as smooth as he thought, and Memphis is just the girl to show him the error of his ways.

Freaking awesome!! One of the best things about Lani Lynn Vale is that the books come quickly and at a high standard! There was no editing misses that drove me crazy! Which is rare in an ebook, most ebooks have at lest one definable problem that you just can't get over and it bring the whole book down! Not here though which I loved, I'm pretty sure that waiting for a book drives everyone I said with anticipation and they can never come fast enough, I love how all these books are released so close together but also how there all interconnected and yet a standalone which is good if someone picks one up with out reading the whole series but they also won't get confused. I loved this book, I loved the characters and the plot! I won't say to much because I am prone to overshareing and I don't want to spoile anything :) there were so things that I didn't understand and maybe that was just me reading to fast and missing something but I found that our heroines dog was a bit inconsistent in the plot, one minute he was there with them then not mentioned again which did confound me because he's dog was mentioned a lot. Maybe that's just me nitpicking at nothing but it bugged me a little. There is also a bit of a conflict at the end with her dad that i didn't like, again you may thing the conflict resolved it's self nicely but I felt it was brushed over in an effort to tie everything up in a nice little bow at the end. I didn't like that because there is enough going on in the last two chapters that can be stretched out into possibly five but who dosent want I good book to be longer :) overall I really did love it. it was unique yet had the same greatness as all the other books, I really incourage you to give it ago. 5/5 <3

5.0 out of 5 stars Another great story! 3 July 2015

Another great book! What I love about this author is that she makes such likable characters and there is never a moment when I dislike them.

Memphis is funny, sweet, and sassy. Growing up the daughter of biker, she speaks her mind and is no ones doormat.

Downy was a great hero but suprising because I never pictured him the way he was in the book. He was alpha all the way.

Memphis and Downy meet when there is a holdup at her job. Downy is part of the SWAT team and is the one to protect her during the holdup. Memphis is greatful to the guy who saved her life but never saw his face.
As a result of the holdup, Memphis loses her job and has to move to a cheaper apartment. Where her unknown neighbor likes to keep her up all night "entertaining" his guests (if you know what I mean). One night she goes outside to let her dog pee and meets a good looking guy. A guy who she tells all about her loud neighbor and when they are returning to their apartments, you can imagine her surprise when that guy goes into the next door apartment! How she handles seeing him after that is freaking hilarious. But she figures that her neighbor, Downy, is now going to be more considerate about the noise. That isn't the case when once again she can't sleep because of the noises next door. This time though she was going to confront the neighbor about it because she has had enough. The following confrontation had me laughing.

After that, Downy and Memphis are aware of how attracted they are to one another but Downy is reluctant to take it further because of the major age difference. The attraction is overwhelming though and they soon give in to it. And boy was it steamy because Downy likes his control in the bedroom. But when they enter into a relationship, there are problems. Downy is older and set in his ways. It is hard for him to change and Memphis struggles with that. Yet, both are unwilling to give up because both are developing deeper feelings for each other.

This was a great story. It was funny hot, sweet and had that element of danger to keep you reading. I loved the couple and was glad to see them have their HEA.

Looking forward to the next book!

Bang Switch (Code 11 KDP-SWAT #3)
By: Lani Lynn Vale
5/5 stars

Lachlan Downy has been a comical relief in several different books and he was in his own book as well. There were times that he had me laughing out loud. He was funny at times in this book as well, but he was also very serious. We learned more about his history growing up and his job with the Kilgore Swat. Having him deal with his Police dog was hilarious at times, and as most dog owners know, ever the best trained dogs have a mind of their own!

Memphis Connor was trying to make a life on her own by going to college, working and paying all her own bills. She has parents that love her, but her dad is more than a tad over-protective. He’s a cop & a member of the Dixie Wardens MC in Alabama. Therefore, Memphis has sworn off dating cops. But little does she know how irresistible her red-headed neighbor is and how she will feel about him. But she also has to put up with his annoying twin roommates, who are Trance’s (H, Kevlar to My Vest) brothers, who are quite comical as well.

There are weird things going on in and around Kilgore which leads to the Police Department taking notice and investigating. This of course places Downy & Memphis indirectly in the way of the criminals, which is of course a dangerous undertaking.

Downy & Memphis have their own personal issues that they have to get over as well. Downy is concerned about their age difference, and later, some of the stress that comes with the horrific things that he sees on the job. Memphis also has trust issues from not trusting her parents because of steps that he took in his over-protectiveness of her and because Downy doesn’t seem to be willing to delve deeply & talk about his issues with her.

But it is how they work through their issues and relationship and build on what they have started, that makes the book. I love all of these characters and am excited for the next book, Execution Style, which is Miller’s book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Downey and Memphis book 3 KPD SWAT 7 May 2017
By Misti Runyon Long - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Downey is 34 on the KPD SWAT team and also the hostage negotiator. He's best friends with Luke the lead on the SWAT team. Memphis is 20 and in college she's from Alabama but moved to Kilgore to get away from her over protective father who's a cop and the president of the Dixie Wardens MC there in Alabama.

Downy and Memphis accidentally meet when SWAT is called into her job and he throws himself on her to provide her a shield was guns are going off. They officially don't meet until later when she's letting out her dog and they run into one another again and she realizes that's him that's been keeping her up at night having sex.

Now I do have to say this is probably one of the funniest books I've read of Lani Lynn Vale. The banter back and forth is fantastic but she also had me crying in this one too both from Downey and Memphis stories. With their age difference alone being so great how's it going to work? Let alone with the problem Memphis has with alpha males. We'll have to see where this one goes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blown away! 13 July 2015

Yippy! I found another great author! I am so happy with this series and this author's writing style that I have already pre-ordered the next two. The background plot is an awesome twist, the main plot of each story is so diverse that the characters are really allowed to shine. Holy hotness, are these men hot! I love the sass and relationship development of the females as they struggle to get used to these alpha men and the danger they put themselves in. As a sister to a former beat cop, a detective, and now warrant officer, I so appreciate the spotlight being shined on the heroes of our country. I am one of those dialysis patients, Mrs. Vale and the struggle that brought you to your writing is appreciated very much. I applaud the courage in your "follow through", because your stories are so worth it. Blessings every day to you and yours.
