I’ve read all the Skinner series some more than once. It’s a great read. Lots of twists and turns with some of his regular characters involved. I love how the characters in this series have evolved. Great read, couldn’t put it down...if fact I didn’t.

Having read all the Bob Skinner books I was looking forward to this latest one. The book is good, no two ways about it, but I ended up being somewhat disappointed, in that it didn't grip me in the same way as all the previous ones.

Came to the conclusion that it was due to the fact that the story is a follow up to the last one as far as the career of Bob Skinner is concerned and that means he was no longer really the central character of the story.

Perhaps if there are any further books planned - and I for one do hope this will be the case - then they could be set in the earlier periods of his career.?

Whilst a short review of police personal is given as they are introduced into the storyline,it does tend to confuse,although if you are a Skinner reader it does help to remember these characters.
The author Q.J. has written a good novel here,inline with his other Skinner stories,I have over the years read them all and always enjoyed them.They do tend to be "tally-o" type stories,Skinner has done it all!!😁.Well worth a read,straightforward writing.😎

I have been a fan of Bob Skinner for years, always waiting for the next one off the press. The last couple of books have left me rather disappointed and this one is continuing the trend. Rather too contrived now and less believable in retirement sadly. I used to be left wanting more - now I am left wanting better!!

I've been reading t Bob Skinner books since Pontius was a Pilot, and I've really enjoyed them. Up to now! In his latest book, Jardine has resorted to frequent use of 4-letter words.(I was in the RAF for 30 years, so I'm no prude...).I just think with Jardine's great writing talent, he didn't need to have gone down this path. As far as I'm concerned, he has done himself a dis-service. ...still a good story 'tho!! Regards, MW

As old characters came and went, reminiscing and ruminating, I thought we might expect Eamonn Andrews to appear - clutching a big red book - and saying "Robert Morgan Skinner, this is your life"
It's readable and it progresses the lives of Skinner's people but the man himself feels like he has lost ground.
On to 32!
