I have loved this entire series and I have to say that this is the best of them all.
Ben and Amanda are part of a group of friends that hang around together over the years different friends have paired off and now with a bit of matchmaking on their friends part these two have started to see one another. The attraction between them is strong but Amanda as a police officer is worried she has seen what happens to the families of her fellow officers always worrying if they will come home. Then there are other problems between them ten years earlier her understanding of the South Side where she lived led to a major breaking of a money laundering scheme now it is active again and she is been asked to help on the case a where the people in that past have ties to Ben. Can they have a future together when so much of the past lays between them.
I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review

What a book for the final book of the south side boys !!!
Ben and Amanda became friends when they were introduced at one of the gatherings they have.
Tori is trying to set Ben up with someone as she doesn't want him to be lonely.
Amanda is a detective with the Chicago police and is happy to be by herself.
After one of Ben's dates he runs into Amanda at the bar and they have a really good time talking and laughing..
Really enjoyed this book and highly recommend this series to read.

I have enjoyed the other books in this series and this one is just as good.
The storyline is full of steam, real action packed, fast paced, page turner filled with wonderful characters.
I loved that we got to catch up with the rest of the group.
I highly recommend this book and the rest of the series too!

i highly recommend this series. I have loved all the previous books and this one is no exception. I loved Ben and Amanda’s journey to find each other and then the drama that threatened to destroy their love. I enjoyed all the interactions with the other characters in this series especially Tori who is an absolute scream. Always enjoy reading Alexis Winter’s books.

This is book 4 in the South Side Boys series; a friends-to-lovers story.
I just loved this one !! It pulled me in and kept me engrossed from start to finish; it's a smooth flowing read, very easy to follow.
It has all the things I like in a good book; likeable characters, great solid text containing funny moments, riveting dialogues, steamy sexy scenes, anticipation, few secrets and not many dramatic scenes (1 or 2 big ones).
Don't hesitate to buy this one !!

Could this series have gotten any better?! Well, it did. After having read all of this series, I can say unequivocally that this one is better than the last. I don’t say that lightly b/c every book has been wonderful! Within this tight-knit group of friends from the wrong side of Chicago comes a beautiful story with enough steam to keep you wanting more. There are secrets that hurt so bad when they come out and reconciliations that you won’t believe.
Before Kalum became Tori’s husband (read FAKE BOYFRIEND), her friends were trying to fix her up with this very good-looking, clean-cut, straight-laced guy who came to her coffee shop every day. By default, Ben becomes a part of their group and best friends with Tori. He’s noticed the quiet and unassuming girl, Amanda but with a boisterous crowd like they are a part of there’s not much chance of conversation until one night after Ben has had another horrendous blind date they end up at the same bar.
Amanda has a reputation of wanting to stay aloof b/c her job as a Chicago Police Detective doesn’t tolerate relationships well. She doesn’t want to go down that road of heartache so it’s easier to never let her heart go there. She’s had a “crush” on Ben for some time but has been afraid to do anything about it. After their unexpected meet-up at the bar, they decide to see where things go. And, THEY GO QUITE WELL!
There were so many great moments: the puzzle strip challenge game; scene in the rain; chapter 12, chapter 46 was priceless; meeting Mr. Dunlop (2 times) and the making up scene! There are also transformative moments too. Especially the one when Ben finds out something about Amanda that tears him apart. This is a must read if you’ve read the others in this series and if not, what are you waiting for?! An invitation?…you just got it! I volunteered to review an ARC of this book through Booksprout and it comes highly recommended. I give it 5++ Stars.

We got to meet Ben and Amanda in Broken (South Side Boys #2) and now we get their story.
Amanda grew up with Jaxson, Kalum and Maverick so she was considered one of the guys. While they went down the wrong path Amanda got her degree in criminal justice and worked her way to detective. Of course her putting away some major players helped. She has put off relationships for her career until one night Ben walks into the bar and they finally get to talk one on one.
Both have secrets and when they come out will their love be strong enough to get past them or will things blow up and end them before they even get a chance to begin??
I seriously LOVE this series and all the characters. Alexis has a way with her words to keep you guessing until the end. I need more of all of these characters please Alexis!! 🖤❤️🖤

Captured and Freed by Love

The relationship of Amanda O’Donald and Ben Jameson seemed fated—the only single members of a group of friends who had all eventually paired off—seemed destined to find each other, or to be pushed together. And with the nudging of Tori West, there was no way the two acquaintances could avoid becoming friends and eventually lovers.
Amanda O’Donald has dated over the years, but never anything serious and never for long. And definitely no relationships, no strings, no expectations. These were decisions made because she had never met anyone really worth the struggle of a relationship. As a member of the Chicago Police Department, she had observed the struggles of her fellow officers dealing with the stress put on relationships by their professions. The unpredictable hours, the demands of secrecy and the simple fear and worry experienced by family took its toll. And now, she was faced with the same concerns—should she allow the relationship with Ben Jameson to continue to develop? Can she share her life with the only man she has ever allowed to get close, the only man she has ever loved.
And, as Amanda is once more caught up in a case in her old neighborhood in the South Side—the very location where over 10 years earlier her knowledge of the place and her careful observations had led her to be central in exposing a mob related operation of money laundering—she is pulled once more by the parallels of the past bust and the current case. And, when the arrests of that past case—members of the O’Shay family—have ties to her current lover—her love—Ben, Amanda can’t see how their relationship can possibly survive.
Alexis Winter continues her engaging story of friends who are family seeking their futures, but also discovering love. With strong, complex characters facing the challenges of life, Bad Boy's Baby is a well-crafted study of relationships. And, each novel is crafted so that while a part of a 4-novel series, it is easy to step into any novel and fully engage with that romance without the connected novels. But, with such engaging characters and plots, every novel is a reading experience to seek out and to enjoy. Friends who become like family and family who are also friends make for an affirming statement of the healing and accepting powers of love. The power, strength and comfort of strong relationships—friend, family and lovers—is certainly the on-going message in the South Side Boys series
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review ARCS, but I enjoyed the reading experience so much that I purchased the novel to enjoy this series in my "read-again" titles.
