I bought this book on a whim as I felt I needed a light read. Oh what a wonderful gift that decision turned out to be! Instead of a light read I was amazed, stunned and couldn't put it down. The journey Osher takes you on is thought provoking. What an incredible person Osher is and I think his bravery in sharing his life story will touch many others. Oh and if you grew up in Brisbane in the 80's and 90's you will get a kick out of the many references. Thanks Osher, I wish you much health and happiness.
Even if you don’t know Osher, chances are you’ve heard his voice or seen ads for something he’s hosted. One might expect a memoir about the amazing experiences he’s had during his life, meeting famous people, having the coolest jobs in the world... But what you might not expect is an inside look at a troubled brain and a person on several paths to self-destruction.
This is a powerful autobiography detailing Osher’s mental health battles... and meeting awesome people all around the world. At times it gets quite heavy, but the reader knows Osher conquers his brain chemistry because he’s still here to talk about it.
Highly recommended. Loved reading the footnotes, made say with the Kindle edition.
This book has entirely changed how I view and treat my own anxiety, but also that of my daughter's. It's incredibly open and honest, and goes into such a deep and personal view that you can't help but feel you've lived some of it. I cannot recommend this book highly enough.
