Avoid at all costs. Just an add on to this item. I recently saw this same pair returned to Costco this week with the same issue. Bearpaw have put their name to this slipper, but they are obviously mass produced, bought up by varying companies and dispatched without any quality control.
Where do I go from here? Get my money back? I doubt it. Amazon have made it near on impossible to bring satisfactory conclusions to complaints. Its buy online, win or be damned.
Rant over. But I feel no better! :-(
These are NOT 100% Suede - there is NO Suede at all - some type of synthetic something that is suppose to look like suede maybe??? These have nothing to do with SHEEP and everything to do with cheep CHINA fake crap!!!. Rubber Sole: These do NOT have a Rubber sole - they have a cheep plastic sole that does not flex. Shearling Lined: These are NOT Shearling lined but lined with cheep polyester something. I opened the box, took one look and knew they were something you would fine at the dollar store. I immediately went to my laptop and started the return process and printed the return label. I can't believe Amazon is allowing these to be sold on their site. What a shame!
I've had numerous pairs of both Old Friend slippers, as well as Uggs, and these don't compare in terms of the pile (density) of the shearling. They're not quite as soft. I'm also torn about the foam sole (no, EVA is not rubber, it's foam)- although it's lighter weight, I'm afraid it won't have the same traction of other slippers.
Overall, though, these are a good buy for $50. They are comfy, and the footbed is supportive for my high arches. I just worry a little that they won't wear well over time, as I wear them frequently, and they don't have much density.
UPDATE: It's been less than three months, and I am already seeing little tufts of wool fall off, and it's become bare in spots. I can see the lining of the footbed. I have contacted the seller, but received no reply. VERY unimpressed. I should have gotten a different brand. I am attaching photos. I won't buy these again- at this rate, I might as well go to the Ugg outlet in my town, and get a nicer pair from them. Now, I REALLY wish that I had called Amazon in a timely manner, and requested a refund, or at the very least, a grievance of some form. What kind of nonsense!
