*I worried when I got the first one, thinking it might be too flimsy to move around once filled. But the structure of the mold (3 bones x 6 bones) allows one to pick up a full mold and to move it without incident. Mind you, I was moving dough and not liquid, but still a huge plus.
*Nice color, pleasant to look at when you're sick of baking and pushing dough into molds.
*Mold has a nice little hanging hole that you can make by simply pushing out the scored piece at the top - or don't - it's a choice that I like to have.
*Shortbread AND chocolate chip cookies release from the molds very cleanly, without incident.
*Cavities are very cleanly molded-no flawed cookies.
*Cavities hold .3 oz of dough exactly. BUT, you can push the dough in the mold to make it take .4 oz if you really need to--I didn't stretch out the mold when I tried it. It retained its shape beautifully even after the cookies were released.
*Cavity size is perfect for using fingers to push the dough into the lobes of the bone and then to even out quickly enough that making them is not a waste of time (compared to other things I can make with my shortbread dough). Simply push the dough in with two fingers on the top, then the bottom, then pat it with your fingers to get the dough moved around to where you need it to be.
*I do get annoyed filling 7.5 dozen cavities with shortbread, but these actually annoy me much less than some of the other molds I am using for the same purpose. It really is so simple that it's hard to get super annoyed about it.
I honestly do not have one negative thing to say about these molds...I am VERY pleased with them and will likely be purchasing at least a half dozen more in the future.
I've shared some photos, and included a standard teaspoon for size reference in two of them. I did show some of my packaging, but I'm super proud of my labeling work and had to use this opportunity to show off my skills!
Thanks for reading, hope this helped you make your decision--(buy these if you're needing them, and buy them if you just want them, they're worth it!)
Ordered them to make our English Bulldog some natural treats.
I am so happy with them.
Used them in the oven and the freezer.
The silicone gives the final product a really nice shine.
The shape is so cute and smaller than anything out there.
And they are a breeze to clean!
Will buy again when I want to make larger batches.
The silicone material is superb for baking. There's no need for any 'greasing' prior to filling, and clean up is a cinch! Nothing sticks! They clean nicely in warm soapy water or just stick them in the dishwasher. I love them!
