4.0 out of 5 stars ... being named as the nanny who broke up Hollywood's favorite couple Daniel Robinson and Annabelle Miller 26 May 2016
By Sassy Southern Book Blog - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Maddie Malone is in the middle of a huge papparrazi firestorm since being named as the nanny who broke up Hollywood's favorite couple Daniel Robinson and Annabelle Miller. Thrust into a spotlight she doesn't want she can't get a job anywhere once people figure out who she is but a friend gets her hired on as the personal assistant to reclusive writer Jackson Drake.

Jackson Drake doesn't have many rules at all but the number one rule is no hanky panky. Maddie is positive that won't be a problem until she meets Emerson Drake, Jackson's son who she had no idea even existed. When the attraction between Emerson and Maddie grows will she put her job first or throw it all away for a chance at love?

I enjoyed this book but I found that so much happened in a short amount of time that it was almost too fast for me. I felt bad for Maddie and everything that she went through with being innocent in how the press portrayed her. I'd almost think that people would have jumped at the chance to hire someone with a "dirty" past.

It was weird in a way that Emerson had no issues with Maddie at risk for losing her job when he was only at his dad's for a short amount of time. The ending was too funny with how everything turned out and it definitely did make me laugh.

5.0 out of 5 stars Find out in another amazing Novella from one of my favourite authors Dakota Madison. 4 May 2016
By Paula L. Phillips - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Remember Nellie from Book #1 and her Roommate Maddie Malone ? In Book #2 we have Maddie's story. After we left her in Book #1 , Maddie managed to score a Nannying gig for America's Sweetheart couple Dan and Annabelle aka Dannabelle. Things though didn't go to great for her and that's definitely an understatement as she was caught in the middle of a nasty divorce and in order for Annabelle to look like the good one in the relationship, she started a rumour that Maddie had slept with her husband. Two things were wrong with this scenario though as A) Maddie never slept with him and B) he is a closet gay. However news broke and from that became a Hollywood Scandal known as the Nannygate and Maddie was painted as the Naughty Nanny. Finding it difficult to get a job, she does what she can . One of Roscoe's friends Finn knows of a PA job going to a recluse author Jackson Drake - he is known for firing his assistants on the first day. He and Maddie seem to get on very well and it looks like it may be a great fit though Maddie seems to already have broken one of his rules - no matter how hard she tried not too - Rule #3 No Hanky-Panky and this goes for his son Emerson Drake. Of course Maddie and Emerson have this instant chemistry attraction going on and it's not just his science major talking. What will happen when the truth is revealed ? Will this be the end of Maddie's working career or from this opportunity, will something better arise and more suited to her qualifications ?

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Surprised 21 May 2016
By Willow Star Serenity - Published on Amazon.com

Maddie has lost her job as a nanny when the lady of the house accuses her of sleeping with the husband. She immediately files for divorce and Maddie's picture is plastered all over tabloids everywhere as the Naughty Nanny. Unable to find a job, she moves in with her friend and friends boyfriend. Can she find a job or are the Naughty Nanny rumors going to ruin her reputation forever?

I have to be really honest here. I saw who the main character was and I almost didn't read this book. I didn't care much for her in the first book in this series. I am glad that I took the time to read this though. I loved it. I actually liked it way better than I liked the first one. Maddie seems way more put together than Nellie was. She's more confident and sure of herself.

I wanted to add more about this, but I don't want to put too many things up that may spoil the book. I'm usually bad about doing that. Maddie is a terrific example of picking the pieces back up and being strong. I love the messages these books have in them. I fully recommend both books. I'm glad I got to read them and can't wait to read more from this author!

“I've been referred to by more than a few people as the personification of a Barbie doll. I've never been sure if that was a compliment or an insult."

"They're definitely not my type. Even if they were the last guys on Earth I would probably choose to remain celibate."

"Vanilla? Seriously? The word is haunting me, taunting me, and making me rhyme."

"When Jackson's stomach growls it sounds like someone captured a Sasquatch."

My Review:

So Far Away was a quick, satisfying, and fun read. The story was a smart, relevant, and forbidden yet sweet love story with bursts of sensual steam. I found the writing to be witty and humorous, with a unique and entertaining storyline and likable and interesting characters. I have added every book listed for Dakota Madison on my TBR and expect to be one of her life long and die hard fangirls.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good Follow-Up Story 23 May 2016
By Kelsey Nelson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I'm not sure what it was about this novel. I love Dakota Madison's novels, but this one I just wasn't all that into. It was well written, some great characters, and a great story line with Maddie Malone. There was just something slightly missing for me that didn't make this a 5 Bar read. Other than whatever it is that I'm attempting to get over that I felt was missing, this novel was a good novel.

The reader picks up with Maddie Malone, Nellie's roommate from the first book in the California Dreamers Series. Landing a job as a nanny for America's sweetheart couple Dan and Annabelle aka Dannabelle was Maddie's dream job. When things fall apart just a few short months into the job, Maddie is at a loss as to what to do. Nobody in their right mind would hire her as a nanny now. Not after the tabloids grabbed the story that Annabelle threw out, and ran with it. Moving back in with Nellie is the only option, and it's one option that Maddie doesn't want to rely on much longer.

When she lands a job, that she doesn't think is up her alley, she jumps on it. It's a job. It pays. And when she meets the mysterious, best selling author, Jackson Drake. He has three rules while she works, and lives in his pool house. The first two are easy. The third she believes she will have no problem breaking until she meets his own little secret...his son, Emerson Drake. Hitting it off instantly proves that Jackson's third rule will easily be broken in so many ways that she can't control herself, or her actions.

Dakota Madison paints a picture of a girl done wrong. A girl who survives her worse nightmares, and a girl who slowly beings to learn who she is, and what she wants to be. Maddie Malone was a fun character to read, and ultimately we see her grow into a well versed woman that knows how things can be broken, and how to put them back together again.
