About the Author

Gene Luen Yang began making comic books in the fifth grade. He has since written and drawn a number of titles. His 2006 book, American Born Chinese, was the first graphic novel to be nominated for a National Book Award and the first to win the American Library Association's Michael L. Printz Award. It also won an Eisner Award for Best Graphic Album - New. His 2013 two-volume graphic novel, Boxers & Saints, was nominated for both the National Book Award and the LA Times Book Award. Gene currently writes the graphic novel continuation of the popular Nickelodeon cartoon, Avatar- The Last Airbender. The Shadow Hero, his recent comic book series with Sonny Liew, revives the Green Turtle, an obscure 1940s character who is arguably the first Asian American superhero. The Shadow Hero is now available as individual digital issues via Amazon Kindle. The print trade paperback collection will be released on July 15, 2014. The author lives in San Francisco, CA..

    Gene Luen Yang writes, and sometimes draws, comic books and graphic novels. As the Library of Congress’ fifth National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature, he advocates for the importance of reading, especially reading diversely. American Born Chinese, his first graphic novel from First Second Books, was a National Book Award finalist, as well as the winner of the Printz Award and an Eisner Award. His two-volume graphic novel Boxers & Saints won the L.A. Times Book Prize and was a National Book Award Finalist. His other works include Secret Coders (with Mike Holmes), The Shadow Hero (with Sonny Liew), Superman from DC Comics (with various artists), and the Avatar: The Last Airbender series from Dark Horse Comics (with Gurihiru). In 2016, he was named a MacArthur Foundation Fellow. His most recent books are Dragon Hoops from First Second Books and Superman Smashes the Klan from DC Comics.

    Michael Dante DiMartino began his training at the Rhode Island School of Design where he graduated in 1996 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Film and Animation Department. His directing credits include the primetime animated series King of the Hill, Family Guy, and Mission Hill. DiMartino wrote, animated, and directed the short animated film Atomic Love which screened at the 2003 Sundance and Los Angeles Film Festivals.  

    Michael Dante DiMartino is the co-creator of the award-winning animated Nickelodeon series Avatar: The Last Airbender and its sequel, The Legend of Korra. He is also the writer of the graphic novels Turf Wars and Ruins of the Empire, the author of the fantasy novels Rebel Genius and Warrior Genius, and the creator and writer of the Audible audio drama Sundown: A Time Capsule Society Mystery.

    His latest book is the coming-of-age YA novel, Both Here And Gone.

Me gustó mucho este libro, el tamaño es más grande que una libreta carta, la pasta dura le da un toque genial, los colores e impresiones son de calidad al igual que la hoja, todo esta muy bien hecho, cada detalle cuenta, solo llego algo dañado de la parte superior izquierda pero no afecta en la lectura se mantiene firme y solo lo notas si pones atención. Super recomendable para los fans de Avatar que se quedaron con ganas de más después de la serie animada.
