Quite simply put, the ring sizer does not line up with the sizing on the mandrel. I don't know which one is off but it's about 3 sizes different between the two measuring devices.
There are two side scales on the mandrel; one of which is for the UK letter sizes and one of which is for the numbers.
As others have noted the rings are numbered which could be confusing but when the relevant numbered ring is fitted the UK letter equivolent can be seen on the letter scale on the opposite side so that is not an issue.
I am not sure about the accuracy of the larger test rings as some of the larger test rings, (over UK size Z), did not accurately match with the number scale on the mandrel.
1.0 out of 5 starsNot accurate (out by up to 2 ring sizes)

Either the sizes on the rings or the sizes on the model are inaccurate. The sizes stamped on the ring are out by up to 2 sizes but it's not consistent. The small ones are about 2 sizes out, towards the middle range they are around 1 size out. This makes the set not fit for purpose.
I bought this to use as an amateur ring maker. The rings are numbered which corresponds with a number on the mandrill. Then you can check that number against uk/Europe/ us sizes. None of the numbers on the rings actually match up with the numbers on the mandrill. 14 only fits to 13, 32 fits over 33 Etc. It’s completely useless, and costs quite a bit for something so rubbish. I’m still going to use it, as I can do so with a ring sizer app and hopefully make it worth the investment.

Number 17 ring is between 16 and 17 on the gauge, and equivalent on the uk side is just past the P. So I was set to buy a ring size P. So then look at the paper which gives the ring sizes chart only to find that number 17 should be... M or N. Confused....
