2.0 out of 5 stars There Are Better Options At This Price Point, I Regret This Purchase.....
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 June 2020
I am disappointed with these to be honest so I'm going to do my best to offer some constructive criticism and explain why I'm not a big fan.

I had always used cheap headsets for gaming and music until a few years ago I felt the need to upgrade and a friend of mine recommended I try a pair of decent monitor headphones because of the very accurate sound reproduction and generally better than consumer grader sound. After sifting through forums I was recommended the Neewer NW-9000 Studio Monitor Headphones and bought them on Amazon and they were absolutely incredible for the price truly amazing. Decent 50mm loudhailer drivers, excellent build quality, comfortable and the best sound I have ever experienced at the time. So when these broke I wanted another pair but they are no longer available :( can't find them online anywhere.

So I saw these ATH-M30X's at a similar price and thought hmm Audio Technica a big brand must be ok, good reviews and purchased. I was wrong. The build quality feels shoddy for the 50 pound price point a bit flimsy and floppy they don't have to be amazing a 50 pound but I've had 10 pound knock off Xbox headsets built sturdier and more comfortably, they have tiny thin exposed mini wires connecting the cans to the headband which look ripe for pulling out in the near future, the adjustable headband is thin and cheap metal inside a bad quality faux leatherette cover and they don't feel food. No detachable cable like the NW9000s but ok thats not the end of the world but where I was really disappointed was the sound.

It has no oomf no punch no special wow that I have had from Monitors in the past, now it's worth pointing out that Monitor headphones are not tuned for bass or treble specifically and not designed to sound like that, they are supposed to accurately reproduce the sound and yet a high quality pair will sound fantastic low and high end and these do not they are really flat. Listening to the same high quality audio track on these and my mates Beyer-dynamics and from memory my NW-9000s these are not pleasing or enjoyable.

Don't make the same mistake I did and think by being a big brand at this price the quality would be fine it's not. If you have to stick with budget pair I would recommend:

Neewer NW-3000 Closed Studio Headphones (currently 31.99) a really solid decent choice

Or if you can stretch the budget slightly:

beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO Studio Headphones or 990 Pro (currently 109 pounds) amazing sound and much better quality.

Just remember to check the impedance ratings (ohms) for the pair you are buying and make sure whatever your plugging them into can power them if your not sure and don't want to buy an external headphone amp go with the 32 ohm.

I really hope this helps!
