Poor business model

I've been a happy customer of Amazon, with barely a reason to be disappointed. The Audible subsidiary seems to have missed the customer service memo though, and is a bit of a black sheep in Amazons lineup.

Briefly, some of the problems I've had with Audible:
- My email communication preferences keep being reset. Time will pass and I'm eventually bombarded with emails for a free trial, or books on sale.
- My first cancellation never took effect. The second ended my membership the day I was charged, and no refund was processed.
- I was billed for three months, with no email notifications of the charges.

To give Audible credit, I was refunded completely. Hence the three stars.

Although I feel it should never have got to that. It's a practice I've seen before. Hope the customer forgets the trial, and throw in a few billing bloopers and hope they don't notice. Charging people for a service they don't plan is theft, or at a minimum completely dishonest scumbaggery.

I trialled audible as I have difficulty reading at night .
Always been a bookworm. I’m sleeping much better now , you can use the sleep function, or be like me and wonder where in the story you actually fell asleep. Very relaxing. I am also using it for when driving,. I commute and this has made my drive much less of a chore. Never any wasted time:recently moved house, would listen to a book while packing up my gear- a tedious job. I’ve noticed I’m also reading / listening to a wider range of material- fiction and non fiction . I realise now I was in a bit of a rut. The daily deals are worth checking out. I have thoroughly enjoyed my listening experience, something I look forward to. My partner has also joined me in listening to some of the books.

I absolutely enjoy listening to audible books. Unfortunately being a person of age, I occasionally drift off into sleep and on awakening finding my previous place is problematic.
The answer may be using a linked ebook, however I don't like the requirement for me to have to purchase a second ebook file to allow me to take advantage of this option.
Surely in this day of ever expanding technology it should be possible to combine audible and ebook files to allow listening to audible while having your position in the book being confirmed by the Kindle app..

Love the audible app. I play it through the car apple play. So many times I’ve had to drive straight past my stop just to get to the end of the chapter. I love having it available at my fingertips for any time and anywhere. The free monthly reads are great too. They Have broadened my interests greatly. I get super excited each month when I get my notification my credit point is good to go.

I had been toying with the idea of audible membership for a looong time. Now I don’t know why I didn’t do it sooner. So many fabulous books with talented narrators to choose from. Just spoiled for choice. My TBR list grows longer every day
Would highly recommend to anyone unsure about the value of joining I’m sure you won’t regret it

More relaxing than a podcast

I'm really enjoying the being in the moment with audible and just listening to one consistent story from beginning to end. I found I was jumping around a lot with podcasts and it became almost stressful trying to figure out what I wanted to listen to on any given day - so I stopped.
