Product Description

The Proposal: Adeline Rigby will live with Accountant Jack Foster and pretend to be his fake fiancée for one month in order for him to seal a promotion to partner. In return, Accountant Jack Foster will intimately tutor Adeline Rigby in French before she leaves for Paris where she will fulfill her dream of attending Le Cordon Bleu.

The Terms:

1. Maintain distance. Three get-to-know-you dates before announcing their engagement will be tempting enough.

2. No kissing. Okay, fine. Three kisses. Maybe four. And neck kisses don’t count.

3. No touchy feely stuff. Or at least not too many public displays of touchy-feely stuff.

4. No sex.

5. All right, all right. One night of sex in order to be a believable engaged couple.

6. Two nights of mind-blowing sex to make sure first night wasn’t a fluke.

7. Absolutely, positively, no falling in love.

Each book in the Off-the-Wall Proposal series is a standalone, full-length story that can be enjoyed out of order.
Series Order:
Book #1 The Seduction of Kinley Foster
Book #2 The Attraction of Adeline

Jack Foster wants a promotion at the firm he works at so badly, but with boss being completely old-fashioned and believing a man is more reliable if he's in a committed relationship, he needs a fiancée. Getting Adeline Rigby to agree to be his pretend fiancée for a month isn't easy, especially when she's so adamant she's better off alone than in a relationship, even one that is only temporary. However, once she agrees, the more time Jack spends with her, the more he finds himself unable to give her up. Can Jack convince Adeline that love is worth fighting for, or will she crush his hope of the two of them being together forever?

Having absolutely loved the first book of this series, I couldn't wait to dive into this book, and I can say this story was just as good. The way this story started had me laughing because of the situation the heroine is in. She could definitely use something to help loosen her up, and what the secondary characters convince her to do is a good start. However, it was the moment that the hero and heroine were introduced to each other for the first time where things became very interesting, as Jack's sister who is also Adeline's best friend is determined to find them both the kind of happiness that she has found with her man.

As for the dialogue, it was riveting due to the main characters back stories and their growing relationship. Adeline doesn't have time for a relationship with what's happening to Dottie, the only woman she's ever considered her mother. How can she possibly spend time helping Jack when she needs to be there for Dottie? Moreover, neither Adeline or Jack want happy ever after due to all that they've been through in the past.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved this author 13 April 2017

This was such a sweet book and lovely story about love conquering all, even when both parties are resistant. This brings up the point that our growing up experiences often keep us from being all we want to be. They often keep us down and unrealistically sealed off from the good things in life. Always love a HEA.

4.0 out of 5 stars This book was much more complex than I expected. 11 April 2017

Format: Kindle Edition
This book was much more complex than I expected. What I thought was going to be just a light romantic comedy turned out to be that and so much more. This one has a deeper, more intricate back story that kept me reading to try and find out what was going on with Adeline. While I will admit that sometimes she drove me crazy with her constantly-changing feelings and emotions, her issues also made a sort of sense to me as I am very familiar with the emotional damage that being a foster child can inflict on a person. I just kept rooting for her to fight her way through the trauma and for her to let Jack in. Jack, on the other hand, was good guy from start to finish. He was a fedora wearing nice guy whose only real flaw was that he wasn't strong enough to stand up to his boss - a man who was mentally stuck in the 1940's. Although that premise (and Mr. C) drove me nuts, I very much appreciate this author not turning Mr. C's ignorant frame of mine into a political/religious rant. That schtick showing up in romance novels is getting old, and I was incredibly grateful that this author just made the old codger “old fashioned” rather than using eye-roll worthy stereotyping just to move her plot along.

I also appreciated that when Jack and Adeline spoke French to each other (which I thought was a great addition to the book), the author made sure to translate everything they said for those of us who don't speak the language.

If you like a book that combines humor with sexiness and deep emotions, you should give this one a read. I am glad that I did!

I requested and was generously granted an ARC through NetGalley. I was under no obligation to review this book, I did so because I enjoyed the story.

4.0 out of 5 stars #CRAZYHASNEVERBEENSOENTERTAINING 12 April 2017
By Jennifer Pierson: The Power of Three Readers - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Adeline Rigby is a very controlled, filled with OCD, young woman who rarely strays outside the box. When her best friend's brother offers a proposal, it takes her a bit, but she finally accepts. She's agreed to live with Accountant Jack Foster, as his fake finance, so he will get the promotion he desperately wants. And he will teach her the French language so when she fulfills her dream at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, she won't be so lost. The Attraction of Adeline is a quirky, and very original story that I did enjoy. It took me a bit to really warm up to Adeline, as her crazy puts my crazy to shame. I'm OCD, but she had me wanting to shake her. However, her and Jack really sparked to me, so the push and pull of crazy was fun to watch, and kept me laughing. This is the first time that I've read Lisa Well, and her talented writing style definitely caught my attention, as truly, I don't believe that I've ever read a heroine quite like Adeline before. The entertaining cast of secondaries only added more well placed humor to the witty story, and I found myself falling for them as well. I cannot wait to read more, so I will end with HIGHLY RECOMMENDING this one of a kind story!

4.0 out of 5 stars A firmly embedded memory that stays on the mind. 7 April 2017
By Isha Coleman - Published on
A firmly embedded memory that stays on the mind. Like learning the words to a favorite song or playing a tune out of time. Adie and Jack, bewitched my heart and proved be like a fine wine. The Attraction of Adeline is an emotional roller coaster ride. Adie has all the makings of a beautiful treasure, but her heart and spirit has been broken down by life. Lonely, heartbroken and never good enough, has taught her what it means to be tough. Until shelter from the storm arrives with a relationship of convenience. Jack shares a similar outlook with Adie. Betrayal has taught him to keep his heart on lock down and his head out of the clouds. With one look Adie has made him rethink that. Her shields seem impenetrable. Yet he wants to break them down. Her eyes are pools of heartache, in which he wants to drown. Her heart may be off limits, but his is down for the count. Alluring, heartbreaking and endearing, The Attraction of Adeline is a hauntingly sweet yet soulful journey of courageous hope.
