Matsui learned his trade working as an assistant to manga artist Yoshio Sawai, creator of Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo. I had no idea what I was getting into when I picked up this series. I had just finished another series, and wanted another somewhat long manga series to read and this was on sale. I assumed by the title that it would be very bloody and violent...I was wrong. While there is blood occassially, it's about as threating as a paintball game.

The story is about a monster who tells the government that he will destroy the world in one year if he isn't killed by then. He can only be killed with special bullets and knifes which don't hurt normal people (think rubber knifes and plastic pellets). He tells the government his only demand is that he teaches a very specific class for one year, and there job is to assassinate him.

The kids will come up with plans to kill him, and will get better and better at becoming assassins, but also become better students in the long run. The whole series takes place over one year, and there are very little filler chapters. For the most part every chapter is moving the story forward, or introducing a character or motivation.

If you are looking for series, that is more about the underdog learning to fight back and win, you might enjoy this.
