Product Description

How do you ask the question, when you know the answer may change everything?

Sasha Brooks has been focused on one thing her entire life: her career. Newly promoted as the vice president in a New York advertising company, she has beauty, brains, and one hell of a fierce reputation. But she also has a secret that she keeps carefully guarded.

Brian Carpenter is finding out that managing his newest VP isn't without its challenges, but when it comes to Sasha, he'd expect nothing less.
His easygoing personality and Southern charm are the yang to her yin and the calm to her storm.

Over the last eight years of their friendship, the flirtations, innuendos, and chemistry have almost led to more, but Sasha has convinced herself they're better off just friends.
Until the moment she thinks he's with someone else.

Is she too late to admit her feelings?
Gathering the courage to ask the question, Sasha discovers she isn't the only one keeping secrets.

You think you know someone....

Although this is a full length standalone book with no cliffhanger, it is highly recommended that you read the series in order to avoid spoilers of the other couples and to get the full background of all of the characters. This is the second book of the “Something Series”
Recommended for mature readers due to situations of language, and sexual content.

Let me Ask You Something … what was the last great book you really enjoyed? For me, it’s this one – hands down. The writing styles of Ms Bondurant have me ensnared.
Sasha appeared briefly in book one of this series and it’s not essential that you read them in order (but I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want too – that’s just madness!) I was instantly taken with the character of Sasha. She’s strong, she’s confident but she’s also very flawed. The way, Ms Bondurant unfurled secret after secret throughout the novel needs to be applauded. There were parts that had me going ‘what!?’ but in a very good way. I even reread sections to make sure I was reading it right, the little nuggets were so good.
Brian. Hmm. He was a toughie for me to gel with. His double standards frustrated me. The part that I loved the most is when Sasha reacted the same way I did. She blew up. She gave him what for! Oh god, it was like watching real life play out in front of me!
This isn’t just a romance book. This is a book about real issues and overcoming those. There are just as many laugh out loud parts as there are ‘oh wow’ parts. It’s nice to have a catch up on the characters from book one and see where they are in their lives. This is a friends (closet crushes) to lovers tale. What I love the most is that she doesn’t need Brian to get past her own hurdles. She does that on her own. Sure, the circumstances and confidence might not have come without him but she did make leaps and bounds on her own. All bar her sister. (You’ll have to read it to understand what I’m referencing).

All in all, this was a one-sit read for me. I mentioned it in the review of Tell Me Something and it’s only fair I mention it here. The cover. Tell Me Something’s original cover just did nothing for me.
