How do you ask the question, when you know the answer may change everything?

Sasha Brooks has been focused on one thing her entire life: her career. Newly promoted as the vice president in a New York advertising company, she has beauty, brains, and one hell of a fierce reputation. But she also has a secret that she keeps carefully guarded.

Brian Carpenter is finding out that managing his newest VP isn't without its challenges, but when it comes to Sasha, he'd expect nothing less.
His easygoing personality and Southern charm are the yang to her yin and the calm to her storm.

Over the last eight years of their friendship, the flirtations, innuendos, and chemistry have almost led to more, but Sasha has convinced herself they're better off just friends.
Almost.
Until the moment she thinks he's with someone else.

Is she too late to admit her feelings?
Gathering the courage to ask the question, Sasha discovers she isn't the only one keeping secrets.

You think you know someone....

Although this is a full length standalone book with no cliffhanger, it is highly recommended that you read the series in order to avoid spoilers of the other couples and to get the full background of all of the characters. This is the second book of the “Something Series”
Recommended for mature readers due to situations of language, and sexual content.

Let me Ask You Something … what was the last great book you really enjoyed? For me, it’s this one – hands down. The writing styles of Ms Bondurant have me ensnared.
Sasha appeared briefly in book one of this series and it’s not essential that you read them in order (but I don’t understand why you wouldn’t want too – that’s just madness!) I was instantly taken with the character of Sasha. She’s strong, she’s confident but she’s also very flawed. The way, Ms Bondurant unfurled secret after secret throughout the novel needs to be applauded. There were parts that had me going ‘what!?’ but in a very good way. I even reread sections to make sure I was reading it right, the little nuggets were so good.
Brian. Hmm. He was a toughie for me to gel with. His double standards frustrated me. The part that I loved the most is when Sasha reacted the same way I did. She blew up. She gave him what for! Oh god, it was like watching real life play out in front of me!
This isn’t just a romance book. This is a book about real issues and overcoming those. There are just as many laugh out loud parts as there are ‘oh wow’ parts. It’s nice to have a catch up on the characters from book one and see where they are in their lives. This is a friends (closet crushes) to lovers tale. What I love the most is that she doesn’t need Brian to get past her own hurdles. She does that on her own. Sure, the circumstances and confidence might not have come without him but she did make leaps and bounds on her own. All bar her sister. (You’ll have to read it to understand what I’m referencing).

All in all, this was a one-sit read for me. I mentioned it in the review of Tell Me Something and it’s only fair I mention it here. The cover. Tell Me Something’s original cover just did nothing for me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasurable torture and Humor 30 November 2015
By Liz Ellyn - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Romance, humor, and drama – all wrapped into one book.

First, let’s talk romance. Again, Bondurant breaks away from the normal workplace romance. This isn’t a lust at first sight book where the weak woman falls at the feet of her boss. Their relationship is based on years of friendship. Sasha is a remarkably strong and successful woman and has a fabulously quick-wit tongue. Brian is more easy going and enjoys Sasha’s challenging smart mouth. While he may have a laid-back personality, he surprisingly demands control in the bedroom. However, he’s not into pain play. He’s all about pleasurable torture, making the steamy scenes very HOT. Also, he notes that he’s not opposed to Sasha’s occasional desire of control when she states, “Maybe I want to be spontaneous and take you in my mouth without permission some morning.”

There’s tons of humor woven throughout the story – too many to quote, but here’s one:

Sasha gives Brian’s 22 year-old sister advice on what to do if the man she is attracted to does’t feel the same, “Okay, You get a big glass of wine, buy yourself a good vibrator, and you say to hell with him. If he can’t realize that you’re a catch, McKensie, then it’s his loss.”

There’s well-written drama from all directions: family, work, and of course the relationship.

The happily-ever-after included a few delightful twists that left me smiling for days.

5.0 out of 5 stars #ASKINGFORMORE 27 November 2015
By Jennifer Pierson: The Power of Three Readers - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is the first book I've read by Aubrey Bondurant, and I absolutely LOVED it! WHAT AN AMAZING STORY!

Sasha Brooks has been focused on having a great career her whole life. Now she's newly promoted as a Vice President in a New York City advertising company. She's beautiful, driven, and fierce, but she's hiding a huge secret that she won't let anyone close enough to find out about. Brian Carpenter has had a secret thing for his newest VP, but Sasha won't let anyone close to her. For 8 years, they have flirted, but she won't let it get any further, until she believes he's with someone else, so she finally takes a chance and says something. So Brian proposes an arrangement with set rules. Will Sasha finally be able to let go of control?

I never know what to expect when I read an author new to me, but Ask Me Something blew me away. The character development is fantastic, with an addicting, well written story line that flows very smoothly. Aubrey Bondurant does a fantastic job hooking me from the beginning, and holding me hostage until I finished. Her talented writing style pulled out my emotions like I was physically in the story, with well placed humor that had me laughing hard. The chemistry is tangible, which made the sexy scenes FIERY HOT, and hot flash worthy. I simply CANNOT WAIT to read more from this author, so I happily HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

5.0 out of 5 stars Can two people so different make a go of it? 20 July 2016
By Linda - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Sasha has earned the nickname Sasha B Fierce for the take charge attitude she has but not everything is as it seems. Brian her boss has the laid back attitude which is the opposite of Sasha but they make it work. Brian and Sasha were supposed to get together a couple years ago but Brian made an excuse and baled. Sasha has always been attracted to Brian so when he suggested an agreement where she gives up control in the bedroom to him Sasha agrees but there is a lot of disagreements to the rules. Sasha becomes the lead on a big advertising campaign she has a really hard time because Vanessa the client on the account feels threatened by women and is chasing after Brian. Brian does try to keep the peace but sometimes he fails to do the right thing and Sasha calls him on it. It was really nice to read how such a strong woman has issues of her own and how a guy who is so good with people keeps messing up his relationship with Sasha. It can be read as a standalone but I felt like I knew more about the characters having read the first book.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want me a Brian of my own! 4 December 2015
By Katherine A - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I had a love hate relationship of sorts with this book. Before you get the wrong impression, let me explain.

I loved this book so much that I hated when I got tired or my phone rang and I especially hated when it ended. I was more than happy to stay in Brian and Sasha's world basking in their love and devotion.

While this is a beautiful love story, its not all roses and the characters all have flaws and their own problems to deal with, just like real people which I loved.

I would love to know if Kenzie gets her man though and if Catherine finds the love she deserves.

I will be looking out for the next book in this series!
4.0 out of 5 stars Loving This Series! 16 June 2016

Sasha Brooks and Brian Carpenter have been best friends for years. Both hold high ranking positions at Gamble Advertising. He also happens to be her boss. Sasha had been based in Charlotte but has since relocated to New York. For the last eight years they have flirted and skimmed the surface of their relationship. Only once did they dare to attempt to cross the lines from friends to lovers. But that attempt was thwarted and they never repeated the performance. But it seems Brian might be interested in taking things further.

We'd known each other almost eight years. Over that time, we'd developed a relationship that was a combination of colleagues and friends.

While in New York on business he hints at blurring those lines with Sasha. She has serious issues with stress. Over the years she's learned coping skills but she hasn't really moved past the devastation she suffered when she was sixteen. She forces herself for the sake of her career to fake ease with meeting new clients and new situations. Brian has no idea just how devastating it can be for Sasha.

There is a lot of baggage in this story. Brian has, to put it mildly, a real need to dominate in the bedroom. Sasha has to deal with his rather extensive sexual history, which is a contrast to her rather modest sexual encounters.

"I won't say that I haven't already done some of the things we've done or will do. But with you it's so drastically different, that I can't recall my history. There's no room for it because my mind is filled with thinking of new ways to please you."

She is a forceful take charge women and struggles with handing over total control to another person. Brian made such an issue of it that I have to admit, I rolled my eyes more than once at his antics. I don't mind alpha men, but one who has a constant need to dominate wears on my nerves a bit.

Our cast of characters from the first story-Josh, Haylee, Catherine and Mark are delightfully present in this story too. Plus we get a little more insight into Brian's sister Mckenzie and her crush on Colby, Josh's brother. (their story is book #3 Bet on Something) I am hooked on this series-I feel as if I know them well enough to anticipate how they will react to situations and what little angsty moments are lurking around the corner.

I made love to her slowly, the way I'd always wanted to from the beginning but was afraid to, lest she see the way I'd actually felt about her for so many years.
