5.0 out of 5 stars I've loved this book very much 20 September 2016

I've loved this book very much. It had me worried about my character's lives. I'm ready to see what happens in the seventh and last installment in this series.

I was surprised by what Nyset did as revenge to King Erza sending his son, Greyson off to Tigeria to be a slave. I wanted to see more of her, Grimbald and her and Walter's small son, Gaidal.
The Shadow princess has been spreading the Shadow around Tigeria where she was hiding out at. Seducing then killing her victims. She had Master Grozul do a dark spell to put her soul into a crystal so that if she gets killed, she can resurrect back again making it hard to kill her. Then she kills him. She brings back the Death Spawn killing many other people along the way.

Juzo left New Breden immediately left after Walter's funeral heading west. Grimbald, captain of the Armsman in the Silver Tower. Isa was recruiting new members into the Swiftshades. Senka got employment at the Jolly Pig butchering pigs and became addicted to Angel's Moss. When Nyset realizes that the Shadow Princess has emerged and the Shadow has returned; she sends Isa, Senka and Juzo to Tigeria to find and possibly kill the princess and the Shadow.

Senka, Isa and Juzo had a rough time in their journey. They get shipwrecked by Sea Crocs, get attacked by the Shadow Princess almost getting killed, then get enslaved by that slimy bastard, Scar then the cannibalistic Tigerian people and feline companions. Greyson another slave that they meet whilst in Scab's captivity is revealed to be King Ezra's son as mentioned above.

Isa, Senka, Juzo and Greyson escape from the wretched and horrible Tigerians in Ashrath and head toward The Dread Temple encountering Death Spawn and are transported to the center of the earth meeting Prodal. Prodal was the one who Scab made a deal with making Scab one hard cockroach to kill and puts the same markings on Isa's arm as Scab's. They end up in Beachmarsh and get fed and a boat and supplies to sail back to New Breden. The Shadow Princess followed them sending her Death Spawn to kill the remaining inhabitants of Beachmarsh. Greyson gets bitten by a shadow snake.

Once returning to New Breden weeks later and reuniting with their friends, Nyset has a confrontation with King Ezra and Greyson and that Ezra will have his revenge on her. Nyset tells the Silver Tower that the Shadow is back and that they must prepare for battle once again. Isa worries about him being in debt to Prodal, the mysterious entity being.

I'm happy that Isa and Senka repaired their relationship: I want taken aback when they weren't together in the beginning of the book. I want to see Scab, Shadow Princess, King Ezra, Greyson, Prodal and Tigerians all get killed. I want to see more of Gaidal, Nyset and Walter's son. I wanted a few more chapters from Juzo's perspective since he was with Isa and Senka the whole time.

I have been fortunate enough to be a pre release reader for all of the books so far. I have been given a free digital copy to read.

That being said, I love the characters and the story lines in the books, the plot twists and feeling that goes into each word makes me feel as if I'm part of the books. I have enjoyed each and every book thus far and hope there is many more to come from such a young talented author.

Thank you

Yet another smash from a pure wordsmith. This book excellently progressed from the previous and helped to once again immerse me into the trials and tribulations of a cast of characters i have grown to love! I highly recommend this to EVERYONE who loves stories that allow you to vividly picture the events as if you were watching a movie. Intense detail and heart.
