Just finished reading this latest offering from Annette Mori and thoroughly enjoyed every page, as the headline states "Real life with a twist of fiction" is exactly what this book is. Based on fact with artistic license, this is a must read in my opinion.
This tells the story of Melissa and her ex, Colette from both perspectives, how their actions or inaction, affect the other person. Melissa is used to letting people work over her and this, her third relationship that has failed, makes her decide that this is the third strike for her. She decides that she is better off by herself and definitely will never date or have a relationship with another artist.
Colette, is Melissa's partner, who meets a younger woman through work and decides that this woman is her soulmate, so she breaks up with Melissa, only to find karma has a way of levelling the playing field, meanwhile Christine enters Melissa's life via the Rainbow Riders. They find they have things in common and their friendship/relationship grows from there.

I realise I'm in the minority but...Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 20 April 2020
I've said before that the author has a really easy read style and that is prevalent again here. The story was quite different to the norm (which was a good thing) and it felt somewhat autobiographical. But, for some reason, it just didn't engage my heart - I didn't particularly care about the outcome for either Melissa or Colette and found the cat narration bits rather ridiculous - i love my cat but talk about personifying ones pets! That element in particular grated on me...
Charming storyReviewed in Canada on 28 February 2019
Is there life after love? especially if the love doesn't last? apparently it does, even if you are middle-aged lesbian. And Melissa, Christine, prove that it is possible in this charming, delightfully written tale of two women finding each other after having their hearts broken
A tale full of raw emotionsReviewed in the United States on 5 March 2019
Annette Mori presents a tale that’s full of raw emotions and makes the reader reach deep inside and consider life’s ups and downs. Further, the author is painfully honest that consequently forces you to feel. On a second thought that’s why we read to forget and feel, and Ms. Mori does a spectacular job. This novel is real, too real to think is work of fiction. Perhaps personal experiences are part of this work making it an awesome read. Bravo for writing this tale. That is closer to reality and I’m not ashamed to admit that I’ll reread it again. This is about life, this is a story of wants and desires, this is a breathtaking novel. Lastly, by purchasing this book you will support two organizations, It Gets Better and The Trevor Project. Thank you Ms. Annette Mori for your generosity and talent. Don’t wait, purchase it because is that good!!!

Get this book! Love this book!Reviewed in the United States on 25 February 2019
This is an exceptionally well told story. The characters are drawn beautifully. Their relationships are presented with realism and care. I so rooted for Melissa and her journey to true love and happiness. Annette Mori has written another winner. It’s the kind of book that makes you want to hang out with the main characters after the story ends.

An excellent journey to finally find the "right one".Reviewed in the United States on 29 January 2021
ANNETTE MORI has another winner with this book, ARTIST FREE ZONE. Reading this wonderful book, I was taken on such an emotional journey! The 2 main characters, Melissa & Colette were very well developed. And I cannot omit the precious Sarasota! Having been raised with dogs, cats and a managerie of other pets, I could relate to Sarasota's narratives!! ANNETTE, you have been blessed with the wonderful ability of touching so many people with your stories! Keep on dazzling us, my friend. Highly recommend.
