A well-written story, with interesting plots and characters. Once I overcame my aversion to anyone tampering with a much-loved character (namely Sherlock Holmes) I found that I have looked forward to my times spent reading this series.

I found this to be more enjoyable than previous installments, I think in large part because the main mystery was smaller. It was fatiguing and, honestly, kind of boring when everything was Life or Death, or The End of the World Is At Stake. Especially because most Sherlock Holmes stories are NOT that consequential. I could do with less Moriarty though. I absolutely have Moriarty Fatigue.

Definetely my favorite book series. A good feminist alternative to the legend of Sherlock Holmes
The first volumes were great but this one was a master piece ! I love how Sherry Thomas succeeded to develop several interesting characters (outside of the great Holmes sisters) through the first books of the series and reunited all of them in this one.
I could not stop reading it ! I am looking forward reading the new one in October !!!
