4.0 out of 5 stars Amazing art but limited character details
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 September 2020
The artwork in this book is amazing and as a long time Spyro fan it was a joy to look through. There's even some original pieces that seem to be made for the book. This would have easily been 5 stars if it wasn't for the issues I have with the content.

Very few characters, Spyro of course being one of them, have a couple of pages or more dedicated to their concept art and the ideas behind them. Most like Ripto (who is a popular villain) only gets one page of their finished design with a brief description. Some with vague descriptions behind their designs. I would have liked to see more concept art or test sketches of these characters. I recently bought the Cuphead art book and it had far more detail and concept art on their characters. Another issue is double spread pages with huge blocks of black text on dark purple. It was just hard to read.

Buy it if you're a fan who loves the stunning artwork but so much not if you want to see character or level concept art and in depth development of your favourite parts of the games.

Bought this item as a collectable Xmas gift for my Fiancee. Just had it delivered after pre-ordering and noticed manufacturer damage (dents and bends) as shown in the photos... packaging was a poor amazon bubble wrap envelope instead of the cardboard box package. I can see that item has sold out, so a bit frustrated as this was something special that is damaged on arrival.. :(

A really nice book with a lot more space dedicated to art than text compared to some. Unfortunately mine arrived with the spine torn at the corner. No damage to the binding or pages but a bit annoying.
