About the Author

Geeta Gwalani is an HR leader in an IT company and has been in the industry for more than 20 years. Her interests lie in design, lifestyle and art. Having studied interior design for a few years, Geeta has a very keen sense for aesthetics and creating beautiful and functional living spaces. Her discerning eye also reflects in the recipe pictures, which have been taken meticulously, ensuring a balance of the dish itself and the surrounding elements. Her love for cooking found expression after her son was born since she wanted to surprise him with all the yummy, yet healthy food that she could prepare. She loves to bake his favorite cakes, cookies, cupcakes and cake pops! Sindhi cuisine is what she grew up on and it was her heartfelt desire to promote, preserve and enhance what she had learnt from observing her Mother. Her Father often told her that Sindhi was a dying language and culture and that we should do what we can to protect it. Aromas of Sindh is conceptualized with solely that purpose at heart. When she is not working or cooking, Geeta practices Sitar and Kathak both of which she has been learning for the past 3 years under the able guidance of her Gurus. She lives in New Jersey with her husband and son. Visit for more information.

5.0 out of 5 stars A recipe book that is NOT complicated!
Reviewed in Germany on 8 December 2020
My experience with recipe books often has been that they require a trip to the grocery store. The recipe mostly calls for a fancy ingredient you have not heard of or have at home in your pantry. This book is not that. Its a simple book which calls for ingredients which would be present in most Indian households or with most Indian food lovers. What is better that the book is filled with vegetarian recipes! In an age where many of us are trying to cut down on our meat intake or turning vegan, this is just perfect, to go for more and more plant based recipes, basically reminding ourselves a lot of what we have forgotten. A personal touch is also a short story with each recipe which is bound to remind you of your childhood here and there. Congratulations to the author and looking forward to the next edition. Sharing a picture of my attempt at Chaunra (Black eyed Beans).
