The positives of this book are the storyline and characters (Shade is my favourite). These elements are what got me to the end. Unfortunately as a fan of LiTRPG things are pretty clumsy from a gaming perspective. There is little game consistency and balance. The MC has a dogs breakfast hybrid build that only adds value through a couple of overpowered cheats. Level 12 characters seem to be able to win against much stronger opponents and early on it seemed character death was an easy way out. Sorry to say I will not be reading book three.

Another great outing for our heroes, unfortunately for them survival is getting harder. Clay is called upon to help out the kingdom,or rather should I say forcefully coerced into helping. He is going to come up against goblins, undead, the usual bad guys and he would rather not,but ever the good guy he is a sucker for people in need. He needs to concentrate on levelling up so he can deal with some of the nastier things that are waiting in the dark to bite you. The Zero Virus is waiting to trip the unwary at every turn. Fab
5.0 out of 5 starsA wonderful addition to Clay Hopewells's story.

As a retired reader when I received the book I spent all night reading this second edition to Clay Hopewell’s story. From the start there is intrigue and suspense as Clay travels to the city of Land’s Shield. The action is fast paced, and events and fights seamlessly join to the next constantly building the tension. Clay finds conspiracies to solve and friendships to make. The book is an excellent addition to Jakob Tanner’s first book. I wonder how long Jakob will take before I have another sleepless night when I read book 3.
A good read and fun mix of varied RPG types. I do not care for the odd random foul language that detracts from the reading and am unsure why the author chose them. It is rather like the gratuitous sex scenes in some movies, ill placed and unnecessary. Looking forward to the next read with some hope of a cleaner read for those who do not want polluted reads.
