Product Description

"A wonderful and heart-warming contemporary romance that you won't be able to put down until the very last page." Romance author Marie Laval
One rainy day in London, Wyoming man Kurt Bold walks into an antique shop off the King’s Road and straight into the dreams of its owner, Penny Rosas. Kurt certainly looks every inch the cowboy hero…but he soon brings Penny’s dreams to earth with a thump. His job is in the logical world of finance – and as far as Kurt is concerned, romance is just for dreamers.
But when Kurt hires Penny to help refurbish his Victorian house near Richmond Park, it’s not long before the logical heart he has guarded so carefully is opening up to new emotions, in a most disturbing way…

5.0 out of 5 stars What a Hero!! Great & Clean love story 11 June 2014

This is the first I have read of Helena Fairfax, and I say, "Oh, my, Swoon!" I thought this might be a "hunky but jerky guy loves a frumpy girl because she's faithful" book - NO. The h has more of an emerging beauty as her self confidence grows. The H, Kurt, is such a MAN, albeit an emotionally unavailable one. I loved watching him become available. Rated PG - some smooches, and there might have been a couple of swears.

I have no idea how I found this book but I'm so glad I did. I'm honestly tired of reading the same 'mix & match' sex scenes that seem to fill modern novels today. l love that this author told an interesting story without having to stoop to throwing in the raunchy stuff. Basically the main characters meet when the H comes into the h's antique shop to buy a gift for his sister. He's an American in London and looks like a cowboy but is actually a businessman. It's a delightful tale of the development of their relationship in a lovely setting.

5.0 out of 5 stars A True Romance 28 July 2015

I read many books a week. At their end, I'm usually left with a margin of disappointment. Now I know why. I want to read a book with characterization which screams reality. I want the story to build until I cry for the characters to give into love. Finally, at long last, when they come together in love beyond any other (not sex) I find the fulfillment the author planned from the beginning.

READ THIS BOOK! It's beautiful and it reads the way a romance should.

BRAVO Ms.Fairfax, an astounding job.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Tokens and White Horses 4 October 2015

Helena Fairfax spins a romantic tale in The Antique Love with its prototypical "man of the West" hero who rides to the heroine's rescue. The fact the rescue doesn't require a white horse is a good thing—since he doesn't own one. However, as the story unfolds, one realizes heroes come in many guises and sometimes the least expected is what one needs the most. Fairfax delivers a romance that focuses on the developing relationship of the main characters without resorting to explicit sexual details to carry the story. The old-fashioned love story will warm your heart with its likeable characters, realistic conflicts, and satisfying HEA ending.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good, clean story 19 August 2015

This is a great example that a romance doesn't need lots of graphic bedroom scenes to be a very romantic story. If that makes any sense. The story was realistic and the characters were like real people. There wasn't a lot of misunderstanding or ridiculousness often associated with this genre. It was enjoyable to see Kurt realize what he had right in front of him and to watch Penny understand she was more than her mother's daughter.
