Product Description

Laney Hill is screwed. On the bed. On the treadmill. On the hood of a BMW. And on her boss’s desk. Then she’s screwed again when she steps into the free clinic and finds out she has gonorrhea. That dirty prick gave her gonorrhea! She’s totally going to break up with him...until he breaks up with her...because he’s married!
A spur of the moment date with her hot musician neighbor, Kade Masters, goes from smoking hot to red-hot disaster in two seconds flat. Then, a night out drinking with friends leads to a fateful--yet awkwardly-sloppy--kiss between her and her best friend George Bratton.
Laney is ready to go into hibernation-mode, when George receives an invitation to his ex-girlfriend's destination wedding in London. Self-destructive George and gonorrhea survivor Laney make a deal to go as each other’s dates. It will make great material for Laney’s “Anti-Romance” blog and maybe it will help George finally get over his ex.
Pushing aside thoughts of Kade, and his "big engine that could", Laney jumps at the chance to escape to the magical land of the royal family. But her magical vacation soon turns into a royal, steaming pile of lies.

This is a 3 1/2 star read however I have removed stars because it is book one only ending with a cliffhanger that was not advised in the synopsis. I reserve the right to purchase a book only if it is complete or stand alone and I feel the author has let me down by not disclosing this upfront. I am so over this trend of serialisation and deeply regret the fact that I did not read the two reviews that provided this vital information.

I just loved the laugh out loud dialogue which was mostly Laney's with herself. Laney is a blogger who wants to prove that romance does not exist. I felt that the blurb on the book does not exactly give the same feel after reading the entire story. Yes, Laney is very much in trouble and has gone through a lot of sexual relationships which she has written about it in her Anti-Romance blog but I am really fond of her character. She could be adorably clueless most times, having Daddy issues and her mom not a very shining example of a good wife. Her best friend George wants more than friendship and she becomes involved with her gorgeous neighbour, Kade. That throws her in a very confusing situation plus an ex was out to get her big time. This book ends in a cliff hanger and I truly want to read the sequel ASAP to find out what happens to Laney, Kade and George.

I'll admit, when I first read the blurb for Anti-Romance I was thinking "yeah, nah not my cup of tea" ever so glad I went with my "it's Cassia Leo, it will be good" because I was hooked from the first page and I seriously could not put it down. I laughed, my heart broke for Laney, I wanted to punch Laney/George/Kade, I even teared but all in all I fell in love with every single one of them.
I'm looking forward to the next instalment, that's for sure.

4.0 out of 5 stars CLIFFHANGER! CLIFFHANGER! 8 March 2016
By 16 Grand - Published on

This book snagged me from the very beginning. The humor was laugh out loud and the story was well written, but...I did not see any mention of it being a major cliffhanger so when the book suddenly ended I was ticked. I never read cliffhangers until I have all parts to the story. By the time the next book comes out I will have to reread this as I read so many books I never remember what they are about unless I do. I would definitely recommend this but only after the sequel(s) are out.

1.0 out of 5 stars Total cliffhanger and story doesn't match summary 2 April 2016
By Tammy - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Furious that this is a cliffhanger - every plot point is left up in the air. I usually check out books pretty well to make sure I am not getting duped. I hate, hate, hate when authors do this - there is no indication in the
Summary that this is just part one - and to top it off the summary doesn't really match the book - they don't decide to be each other's date to the wedding - George begs her to go as moral support.

To make matters even worse, I paid for this book and now it is in Kindle Unlimited - would really like my money back.

2.0 out of 5 stars BLINDSIDED WITH CLIFFHANGER/BOOK ONE 14 March 2016
By Cheryl - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
I would be gushing about this funny story if not for the cliffhanger ending that I was unprepared for! No where on this Amazon page or the author's posting of the cover release does it say this is book one. Yes, I know on Goodreads it indicates this is book one and the reviews here now comment about a cliffhanger, but I try not to read reviews first for fear of reading a spoiler. Is it too much to ask for authors to indicate in either their blurb or the title when a book is the first in a series. I don't even care so much about the cliffhanger ending, it's the not knowing I'm reading a book that is part of a series that is not completed yet that makes me mad! I want to have the option of deciding if I want to read book one in a series, that may or may not have a cliffhanger, knowing that I will have to wait for the resolution of the story when the next book or books are released. Come on authors be up front with your readers!!

1.0 out of 5 stars What Did I Just Read?! 27 March 2016
By Book Nerd - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I read the synopsis and thought this book was going to be awesome. But boy was I fooled! This book was….I won’t call it horrible but it was just all over the place to me. This book didn’t give the characters depth and Lane was just a Sahlut (spelled this way on purpose). She was sleeping with Richard, gets a STD (oops sorry STI as she calls it), 2 weeks later sleep with Kade, and next thing you know she’s sleeping with George. It’s like George is written one way, and then literally the morning after they sleep together he is totally different.

Something happens that is important to Lane at the wedding that impacts her career and life. George tells her she needs to leave if she’s going to be on the phone because she is disrupting the wedding. Like how can you say you love someone and while their life is falling apart you’re more worried about the wedding of your ex? Then what Kade did when he threw her out, it’s like everyone was all over the top. I couldn’t connect to the characters and I didn’t like Lane at all. We don’t know anything about her other than she purposely dates men that she no she has no future with just for a blog. Not only is she dating them she is SLEEPING with all of them! In my overall opinion I say skip this book because it was too fiction for fiction and no bond was formed with the characters.

3.0 out of 5 stars If I'm forwarned, I don't mind cliffhangers 11 March 2016

I really liked this book. It was well written and made me genuinely feel for Lainey. The only problem I had was the MAJOR cliffhanger. If Cassia were to have forwarned her readers of the impending cliffhanger, I would've waited until the second book was out and bought both to read back to back.
