From the Inside Flap
heart of a heartless city... She could have been any homeless, nameless young woman trying to escape Seattle's mean streets. Except the sixteen-year-old who stumbled into the shelter that night was missing a lot of blood, and something even more vital... Somewhere between life and death... For police woman Daphne Matthews, it was bizarre enough to call on the best cop she knew... especially when a search turned up more than she knew... especially when a search turned up more mutilated corpses. For ex-homicide detective Lou Boldt, it was the kind of case he couldn't resist. And for Elden Tegg, healer, only path to salvation... and immorality... Lurks the angel maker. And now, as the body count rises, tow cops try one last, desperate ploy. But they'd better start praying. Because it will take a miracle to stop a killer

Shhhh! Don't tell the publishers, agents or directors but Pearson is the best writer around...

I just finished a book by one of my once-favored authors, James Patterson, after reading 16 Ridley Pearson’s in a row. Bad decision! None of those once great authors can sustain the high forever. I blame publishers and directors for destroying our best authors. Next thing you know the protagonist develops the ability to jump off walls or over buildings and bodies start falling everywhere while machine guns shoot everything that moves except the hero. The elevated body count is meant to keep the tension I assume. The model fails as Ridley Pearson has repeatedly somehow shown that it is not the amount of bodies but some other magic he has found that no one else seems to have these days. Ridley Pearson has shown that vulnerability and believability is a better formula to good writing. I fear someone will push Mr. Pearson to push out more books faster which is a fast path to mediocrity. If you have a friend who likes mystery tell them Pearson is the best but please don’t spread the word to Hollywood – they already ruined Lee Child’s Jack Reacher character who these last novels kills a whole town without much in the way of injury to himself – never mind the fact that out 6 foot 4 Jack Reach suddenly got awful short and unJack-Reacher-like; something I fail to understand as there were at least 7 people better suited to be Jack Reacher than who they chose.
Another Ridley Masterpiece

Wow, this one is definitely a scary read. Yes, organ harvesting and yes we've read about it before but seriously this book will keep you on your toes, on the edge of your seat... with your eyes covered! It was that good! This is another favorite of mine from Ridley Pearson and his books just keep getting better. I love the characters! I love the thrilling suspense... and the gruesomeness - well it's just part of the whole suspenseful cocktail . Be prepared to be scared!!!
Well written, graphic

I'm a big fan of Ridley Pearson and have read most of his books. This story is well written and suspenseful, but I had a little issue with the subject matter. The thought of a rogue Doctor doing organ harvesting was a bit much. I'm sure it happens, but he writes so well it was easy to imagine the graphic details.
