5.0 out of 5 stars A Book That Will Keep Your Interest! 21 March 2017

I really got caught up in this book, turning the pages at a fast pace. Two girls form a great friendship in college, one, Tancy, from a poor background, and Audry, whose family was truly wealthy. Neither were close to their parents. The only thing that didn't ring true was when Audry worked as a escort. She found true love and was never exposed to clients who took advantage of her. Most aren't that lucky. Tancy finds true love with a policeman, who enables her to discover that her childhood friend and confidant, Angel, was really a ghost. It was a very interesting twist which otherwise could have been a very predictable plot. I really wanted to know who Angel was and how she was murdered. It made me want to keep reading. When Tancy becomes an escort in order to find the answers to the murder, the plot gained even more interest and momentum. Read this and you won't be disappointed.
4.0 out of 5 stars Steamy suspense! 19 March 2017

Interesting story with a heaping of erotica - maybe a little too much erotica, but those scenes were well-written. Two girls from very different backgrounds find romance in the Windy City and manage to help solve a cold case murder. A touch of the paranormal gave the book an interesting twist.
One critique - one of the two main characters finds her perfect sugar daddy while working for an escort service and doesn't experience much of the seamier side of that work, presumably because she's smart. Not particularly realistic. For every girl who winds up with the perfect guy while working as an escort, hundreds more are abused and some meet the same fate as one of the murder victims in the story. Felt kind of yucky to romanticize that lifestyle.
4.0 out of 5 stars Book Review of Angel of Death by Jennifer Hinsman 18 April 2016

The title of this book would suggest a macabre story. Far from it! This is a beautiful love story, with a touch of the dark side, and a lot of erotic sex. If I had not read a real erotica before this book, I would have condemned it for being too explicit with the sex scenes, but I read this other book and know the difference. Still, the sex scenes were really very explicit. But the romantic aspect of the story made up for my cringe worthiness to erotica.

The romance between Robert and Audrey, Gunner and Tansy was so sweet it was a romance made in heaven. Two girls, who came from two different backgrounds, one stinking rich, and the other miserably poor, experienced pain. Pain is pain. It doesn’t change intensive based on a person’s financial status. Pain hits the rich and the poor alike. In their pain, they found friendship, and became live-long friends. They leave their painful lives behind them and build a wonderful happy and fulfilling loving lives.

A murder is committed. A whole family is wiped out to cover this murder. The rich can buy silence, but they can never buy justice. Justice will always prevail. And so it did, after fifteen years that the murder was committed, we found that the apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. This is a beautiful story, marred for me here and there by some bad editing, and, as I already mentioned too explicit sex scenes. I enjoyed the story.
5.0 out of 5 stars They'll endure risk, sweltering passion; even love. 17 August 2016

Deep soul attachments are strengthened, tying Tancy and Audrey together; however, their existences are transformed by scandalous facts. The homicides were exposed in anticipation of these gals, enduring risk, sweltering passion; even love. Tancy and Audrey have a bond like siblings, and even though they stem from the opposite sides of the tracks, one from prosperity and a source of pride, the other underprivileged and having inattentive, substance abusing parents, they are still kindred spirits. Their closeness and strong ties will lead them down a dark path where they’ll attempt to crack a homicide case going back into Tancy's younger years. Author, Jennifer Hinsman’s story is written well, with believable characters that you get attached to very quickly. Jennifer gives you just enough on each page to tempt you to the next, keeping you on the edge of your seat, wanting to know what’s going to happen next. This is a great tale for lovers of suspense and passionate reads.
2.0 out of 5 stars Review: Angel of Death 18 February 2016

I don't mean to be so cruel. I wanted to like it, but this book is meandering and dull. The first 15% of the novel should be cut, There's no reason to spend all of that time to describe what could be described during the actual story. The plot tends to disappear throughout the book, and when it is there, it barely moves. It's like being lost in the woods while riding a tortoise.

The two main characters are little more than cardboard cutouts, and the love interests are overused tropes. I suspect that the story was meant to be a platform for sex scenes, but even the sex left me bored. Not to mention the cliche title. How many novels are out there with the same name?

The writer must have some talent, and there are a ton of 5 star reviews that show that she pleased a lot of readers. I don't see it. I think that the writer needs more honest beta-readers and an editor who will tell her when to (literally) cut to the chase.
