Wow! I sat down to read this on Saturday morning, and ignored EVERYTHING (except food of course!) until I finished it around 6pm. I wasn't expecting to like it that much!
The story follows the heroine Porzia as she begins to open herself to the worlds of mystery. Porzia herself is a well-drawn character; I feel that I know her and like her. Her best friend Benedetta is also intriguing, as well as Evalena (Porzia is right, everyone should have an Evalena in their life!). The friendship and support between these three women feels warm and genuine. From Florida to Georgia to Austraila to Oregon, Porzia pursues her passion of writing about and experiencing fine food and excellent wines. On the way to an assignment to Adelaide, she meets a handsome magnetic man who turns out to be just about perfect. Handsome, strong, sexy, spiritual, and funny. Hard to beat that! I won't spoil it for you except to say that story is a rollercoaster ride of passion, mystery, fun, exotic locations, good food and wine, and emotional highs and lows. I especially enjoyed the brief introduction into the beliefs of the Aborigines. Well worth the read.
***NOTE: There is a LOT of sensual action in this book. Not for the prudish or faint of heart - but well written and fun.
