Will write an update after I finish this book but being only 3 chapters in, I have already connected with this book (the kindle version).
When reading the book, it is obvious in the first few chapters that this author is no stranger to being a leader. He immediately shows his role as a leader who had an idea and then immediately reached out and directed others to make the vision of this book become a reality. In true leadership fashion, he encouraged successful friends to tell their stories of taking initiative, accepting tough challenges and becoming leaders in their own way while maintaining a high level of quality in the stories they tell.
These men and women who tell their stories are not writers. They are marketing professionals, personal trainers and engineers (in the first 3 chapters). They did not seem to possess what readers might consider, an eloquence of words to be put into a book. This was my initial judgement but turned into my greatest surprise. Jordan Fischette was able to guide these successful people through his vision in such a way that encouraged them to write not as though this is a written challenge in academia but rather as if they're telling their story to a person sitting next to them - in their own words. This comes through very well to describe the rolls of the leadership that revolve around their profession and in a relatable way that I think most will be saying to themselves, "I've been in that situation too" or "I would have gotten along better with my manager if they had done that" or, if we're truly honest with ourselves, "I could have used this advice earlier to dictate my demeanor and make that project more of a success".
Definitely worth a read! The title stays true to what is written within.
