Product Description

A kilt meets dress modern love story.

If you like good guy geek heroes who look hot in kilts, strong, intelligent heroines, and poignant romance, then you’ll love Almost Jamie, the first book in Gina Robinson’s light, fun contemporary romance Jet City Kilt Series.

Half American, half English physician Blair Edwards has always wanted her Jamie, the Sinclair, the dashing Highland laird of the wildly popular TV series, Jamie. Unfortunately, it's so hard to find a man like him in the modern world. When the stars of Jamie come to Seattle's Jet City Comicon, Blair dresses up as Jamie's Elinor in a vibrant red gown, hoping to get a seat in their popular presentation and a good view of the handsome, charming star of the show. She doesn't expect to be called on to use her medical skills to treat an injured cosplayer who looks almost like…Jamie. And sets her wounded heart racing.

Cosplayer, geek, app designer, and cyber security expert Austin MacDougall has been styled by his matchmaker to look like the actor who plays Jamie. He's been trying to win the prize for best amateur cosplayer for years. Against the advice of his friends, he goes to Jet City Comicon in a kilt as Jamie, the striking redheaded Highlander. When he's injured during a mock battle with a vicious cosplaying orc, his friends get him help from a beautiful doctor in a stunning red dress.

Has Austin met his Elinor? The adventure is just beginning…

Find out why readers love Gina Robinson’s good guy heroes, the strong women they fall for, and their funny, witty, romantic stories. Scroll up and grab your copy of Almost Jamie today!

Who doesn't love a Scotsman!!
We met again the developers of the Pair Us dating app in the Jet City Billionaire series, this time at the annual Comicon event - all attired in their character costume of choice. Austin has opted to recreate the newest Scots hero "Jamie" with meticulous detail and authenticity - absolutely swoon-worthy.
Timing and circumstance brings the enchanting Blair (attired as Jamie's lady love Elinor) into Austin's peripheral vicinity and from here the fun begins.
Almost Jamie brings alive the fun of cosplay and complexities of the heart.

5.0 out of 5 stars Yayyyyy Austin's Story🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 20 June 2017

I have been soooo waiting for Austin's story and it is definitely worth the wait. Austin is the kilt wearing geeky friend from Lazer's Matchmaker series. While getting ready for a popular Com Con event Austin and pals get to meet Connor Reid the actor portraying Jamie from a Highlander series that could be Austin's twin. After some advice and quite a few drinks with Connor the guys score backstage VIP tickets for the event. Blair is a physician on her way to her first Com Con event for the only purpose of going to the Jamie workshop. After being raised by her loving aunt when she was orphaned at a young age, the Highlander series holds a special place in Blair's heart. When Blair offers to help an injured Austin, sparks fly for the pair and Austin invites Blair to use his plus one VIP pass as a thank you. Austin and Blair had no clue what they would encounter dressed as the main characters from the series, especially since they could pass for the their twins. When a story is leaked about the actors personal lives Austin and Blair step in to help out. What could it hurt right, nothing until the local talk show host Sherry Carmichael blindsides them. Will this be a temporary situation or will Austin's matchmaking lessons help him find his true match? Gina Robinson spins a story that will keep your attention from the first page till the last. The characters mesh so well they feel like true friends. Loved it and happy to see characters from other series and can't wait for the next book!!! Already ordered the next two!!

Austin and Blair each attend Comicon. He's there with his friends to meet Stan Lee but he's dressed as Jamie, the main character in a popular Highlander series who he greatly resembles. Blair, a doctor, is dressed as Elinor, the love interest of the same series, who she also resembles. They meet when one of Austin's friends runs into her and she ends up resetting Austin's finger after an unfortunate Orc incident. They end up going to the Jamie panel all together and attract the notice of the the series stars. While they're there for different reasons, they have in common an attraction and affinity. But Blair has just gotten out of a long term relationship and not ready to yet, she thinks. A great addition to the Jet City universe! I can't wait for the next book!

Almost Jamie a Jet City Novel by Gino Robinson
4 stars

I'm so excited about this new series and how it has some crossovers of our favorite guys from The Billionaire Matchmaker Series. This book keeps up with their geeky passion of computer game characters at Comicon. Will Austin be able to put his dating lessons from Ashley the Matchmaker to the test?

Austin is attentive, witty, a gentleman and a geek to most with his focus on coding, software and app developing. He is learning how to interact with women and looking for his soulmate. Will he find it in an unlikely spot like Comicon...will she share his passion...can he put Ashley’s lessons to use or will he look like he's trying to hard?

Blair is a physician and didn't believe in medi-physical she doesn't want to watch experiences she needs the physical hands on experience. Blair finds herself in a new experience...will she embrace it or keep her skepticism. Blair winds up getting her future read by tea leaves. Will she get the journey that is predicted or just the sadness, heartbreak and tears that were read?

Blair aka Elinor and Austin aka Jamie meet at the Comicon. Both are dressed up in their favorite characters from a popular TV series...which happens to be the hottest couple and they could pull off being their twins.

“Even our first meeting was the stuff of romance novels—the heroine, me, setting his finger, nursing him, healing him. If he could return the favor and heal my bruised heart, wouldn't that be something?”

Blair is a novice at Comicon, but finds herself enjoying the day with Austin being her tour guide of all things geeky. She meets some of his friends and starts to understand the Comicon world a little bit more. Since they are being confused with the actual stars they find themselves being invited to pull off their own romance story and are set up on fake dates and interviews. Just when they think they might be writing their own romance (of course they don't admit their feelings to one another)....Austin gets the news he'd normally be thrilled with, but right now it comes at the wurst moment.

“Heads up. Rumors are flying. Panic is ensuing. Clear your calendar and prepare to be chained to your desk - mandatory overtime is about to rear its ugly head.”

Will their bubble of romance be broken? Will Blair and Austin be able to write their own story in the real world? Is the timing for her journey now or is this the tears, sadness and heartbreak the tea reader predicted?

This book was a great, quick read…surprisingly it left quite the cliffhanger. Looking forward to book two in the series ~Almost Elinor.

Gina Robinson has done it again! Another Jet City winner. Austin MacDougall, whom we met in Lazer's books about Pair Us, is one of Lazer's programming friends that Ashley started the Pair Us system with. She took these adorkable geeks and sent them through her program to re-dress, re-style, bodywork, teach them how to act on dates and more to help them eventually meet and marry the woman of their dreams. With Austin, Ashley played up his lookalike-ability to TV heartthrob Connor Reid from the show 'Jamie' about a historic kilt-wearing sword-wielding Scot prior to the Battle of Culloden. It's ComiCon time and Austin is going as Jamie (not a true ComiCon entry) and the TV cast will be present. At the event, he fortuitously meets Blair, dressed as Elinor, (Jamie's girl), and Austin is smitten! Head over heels! Blair might be interested too, maybe. She's just broken up with a long time boyfriend. It was a dying relationship. Austin is HOT. Will Austin succeed in winning Blair's heart? Ashley suggests he goes slowly. Will he listen? Does Blair want him to move slowly? We can only wait and see. There's a bit of a cliffhanger (of course! Gina is well-known for that!!) Can't wait for the next installment!
