An amazing start to the series

OVERALL LIKES

📖 switching perspectives
- it would be nice if the author added a bit at the start of each chapter to inform the reader of which perspective they’re reading from, but it’s not hard to figure it out and is only a mild thing if I was really trying to nitpick

📖 no love triangle
📖 the settings
📖 the romance (starts pretty early between both and without unnecessary angst)
- although the mutual romance started pretty early, they didn’t get intimate until near the end which, I feel, made it a more meaningful moment between the 2 after all the hardships

📖 the characters
- I loved the main character: Rosalia. She was brave, determined (without making stupid decisions without thinking), modest, cunning, kind and overall an amazing character. It’s really hard to find authors that know how to execute a strong-willed female character that aren’t impulsive and quick tempered.

Many of the characters were trustworthy without a lot of backstabbing for personal gain. The story isn’t overly dark and Rosalia attains many allies and trust in her. I’m also really glad that this book wasn’t overly political and that in the end, the elves were there with a helping hand. Another show that there are as many good hearted characters as there are on with bad intentions.

OVERALL DISLIKES

Honestly there aren’t many. The plot was a little slow to unfold at the start and the immediate attraction was a bit surprising but I enjoyed it.
