Book five in the Clans of Kalquor series - newly edited version.

Having escaped post-Armageddon Earth, Dani Watson is resigned to working in a brothel to pay off her contract. Then her worst nightmare arrives to buy her—a Kalquorian clan.

Dani Watson is a brothel worker on the planet Dantovon. Having escaped post-Armageddon Earth, she’s resigned to spending several years in service to pay off her contract. Her one consolation is that she avoided being captured by the Kalquorians.

When a Kalquorian clan buys her contract, Dani attempts escape. Crashing on a remote moon puts her life in jeopardy, leaving her and the clan of Gelan, Wynhod and Krijero fighting for survival in a hostile environment. Worse still, they’re being hunted by a group of brutal Tragooms who are determined to capture Dani and subject her to a fate worse than death.

Reading the previous reviews had me wondering if I would like this book, but I decided to try it because Dani sounds like a female with a backbone who decides to become a prostitute to save her life as she works to complete her contract. She would rather be a prostitute and eventually gain her freedom than to submit to the Kalquoarins for the rest of her life. She is a survivor and I didn't find her spoiled at all , but I liked that she had spirit and determination in the situations she finds herself in. I also liked that she hates the Kalquoarins for Earth's destruction and makes it so that clan Gelan, Wynhod, and Krijero have to really work at gaining her trust and love instead of her just swooning and falling at their feet. Krijero's vulnerability with her was really sweet and humanized the Kalquoarins. Sometimes it gets really tiring to constantly read about Superman Alphas. The author could dial down the frequency of the sex acts between all of them, but when I got tired of reading them, I just skipped that part to get back to the action. I can see having so much sex when they are in the brothel, but running in a swamp for their lives in another thing.
5.0 out of 5 stars Alien review 13 December 2012

This was one of the best series I have ever read. I was not happy when I was nearing the end of the story because I did not want it to end. But I was oh so glad I had another story in the series to read. This story was very different from any other series I have ever read. The story was well written without being confusing even though the story line encompassed many other planets and aliens, everything was kept at a level that was easy to follow and remember from story to story. The females are strong females, they are either alpha's from the start of the story or turn into alpha's by the end of the stories. But, I wish there would of been more of the females holding there own in the beginning of each relationship instead of giving in to the men with in a few short pages. I was very upset that the series came to an end but Alien Interludes was a great book that I was able to put questions to rest about what happened to certain characters. This series is a MUST read! AND the Kindle books are FULL books.

Unfortunately, I almost let these negative reviews sway me from buying this book. After realizing I very much enjoyed Ms St. John's other books in the series, I thought, why would this book be any different. Glad I bought this one too! Now on to the book with the short stories about the first 5 books. Happy Reading!
4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome 24 April 2015

Dani I was awesome in this book. I really enjoyed this alot of course it had some trying scenes but I felt it wasn't as bad as what some said about it. You have to look at the situation and of the female mc. She was a selfish, self indulgent woman who got everything she wanted from her daddy except love. The men had to be heavy handed on her so she would be able to fully open up to them. Once she_she finally realized she loved them. I felt bad for the clans indiko but he was so cute and I love hearing how the clans got together originally.

I have found, with a few of the authors I have really enjoyed, that the characters and cultures have become for me real as my mind sinks into their lives. It is truly the sign of good writing. I pray Tracy never tires of writing of these people for I would miss them terribly.
