Whether you're new to Akira, a fan of the film who wants to read the manga, or a long-term diehard, this set is currently the best way to acquire the complete Akira manga series in English. It's great value at the "sale" price of $206 AUD (at time of writing) - though this is also the same price on every website I've looked it. It's listed with a a normal price of $340 AUD, which is still good for what you get if you can afford it - but at that price if all you want to do is read the manga it might be better value to buy the individual paperbacks.
This set comes in a nice sturdy box, the books are all hardcover, and you also get the "Akira Club" book, a collection of title page images (art not directly part of the story) that were in the original 80s manga issues but not in the collected volumes. Akira Club is good but inessential, though not currently sold by itself like the manga volumes are.
Overall, this is a bespoke and ultimate version of the Akira manga - an amazing work of art.

La caja es preciosa, las ediciones en pasta dura con sobrecubierta son increíbles. El libro de arte es un extra buenísimo.
Tengo dos ediciones de panini en pasta blanda, las del box set son ligeramente más grandes. La diferencia es que está en inglés.
La conseguí por $2,500 pesos. No es mucha diferencia de lo que me hubiera costado el pack de panini. Así que vale completamente la pena.
Estoy muy contenta con esta compra.
