Suspenseful, interesting and educational classic Mary Stewart6 March 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
Like others, I read a lot of the Mary Stewart books over 45 years ago. I am rereading and have been so pleasantly surprised at how they stand "the test of time". They are still fascinating and entertaining to me. Airs Above the Ground was my introduction to the Lipizzaner Stallions and the Spanish Riding School. Twenty years ago, I had a chance to see the Lipizzaner Stallions in a performance here in Northwest Montana! Not really being a horse person, I would not have gone if not for having read and loved Airs Above the Ground. This recent reading - I did not remember the entire story and enjoyed the suspense. The descriptions, the dialog and even some light, subtle humor are also part of what makes all of Mary Stewart's books so enjoyable to me.

Where's the Husband and the Beautiful Blond?18 January 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
A young wife has lost her husband somewhere in Europe. He's gone on a business trip even though they were due to go on a vacation together. He's supposed to be in Italy but she sees him on the news at a bad circus fire in Germany, standing beside a beautiful blond woman. Wondering what the xXxX is going on, she gets on a plane for Germany. She doesn't find her errant husband but she runs into killers, spies, and beautiful Lippizaner horses. This is a grand Mary Stewart adventure.

Just as captivating as the 1st time I read it 50 years ago.22 January 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
Mary Stewart! What an author! This book has such wonderfully characters; I especially liked the relationship between Vanessa and Timothy - such a clear-eyed characterization of a bound man. The plot has enough twists and turns to keep you guessing, and the writing / vocabulary is a joy. The ending brought me to tears - again. I recommend this book to all who appreciate a well-written, well-researched mystery. And now, I'm going to read it again!

A superb author, a fun book!9 July 2019 - Published on Amazon.com
Mary Stewart was and still is a very fine writer. This has a bit of romance, a bit of mystery and a bit of horse-loving. A perfect combination. Her descriptive narrative is so good I felt like I was visiting Austria. It is very relaxing for a summer read. Recommend to people who like to read and visualize slowly, not for speed readers who just want the solving of a mystery.

I have loved this book for forty years!12 January 2018 - Published on Amazon.com
I am old enough that I will admit I have been reading Mary Stewart's mysteries for over forty years. The stories are always well-written, with a good mystery core and some romance mixed in as well (clean romance, a priority for me!). To me, they are timeless and I am thrilled to be able to get them in a Kindle edition now. I know I will be buying more!
