When one story ends, another begins
Lou Clark has lots of questions.
Like how it is she’s ended up working in an airport bar, spending every shift watching other people jet off to new places. Or why the flat she’s owned for a year still doesn’t feel like home.
Whether her close-knit family can forgive her for what she did eighteen months ago. And will she ever get over the love of her life.
What Lou does know for certain is that something has to change.
Jojo Moyes says:
“I hadn’t planned to write a sequel to Me Before You. But working on the movie script, and reading the sheer volume of tweets and emails every day asking what Lou did with her life, meant that the characters never left me. It has been such a pleasure revisiting Lou and her family, and the Traynors, and confronting them with a whole new set of issues. As ever, they have made me laugh, and cry. I hope readers feel the same way at meeting them again.”

I had a really difficult time believing the characters. The way they were presented and the way their personalities and their antics.
Even Lou was a little of a disconnect with me. She lost her wit and her spunk. I could believe that her mourning would have something to do with it, but something was amiss. On the other hand, there was a part of me that could completely identify with her mourning; her lack of interest in ANYTHING and the way she just went through the motions of the day.
For those of us who read the first book, this is an important book to read whether the good or the bad reviews speak to you. It’s necessary to follow the character Louisa, as she navigates coming back from the death of her beloved Will. We need to see how she recovered, how she managed her days and how she began to rebuild her life. For some, this may be painful and for others, there will be a sense of satisfaction.
I invite you to read it. Love it, hate it or just let it be...
There are 2 things that I want in a book. Firstly not wanting to put it down and not wanting the book to end all books have met the criteria.
I enjoyed this book, it was a lovely sequel to Me Before You. Although the author is considered a romantic novelist the quality of her work is first class, engaging and ignites personal attributes.
I will certainly source other Moyes' books.
