About the Author

Steve Braker was born in the UK, he grew up in Cornwall in the South West, living next to the beaches, surfing, fishing, sailing and rock climbing. When he left school, he moved to London to work, then got the travel bug and spent two years travelling through Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Borneo, The Gambia, and India. On his return, he worked in London on various projects but ended up as Owner of an English school for foreign students. In the late 90's Steve moved to East Africa and settled on the coast of Kenya with his wife and four children. They settled in a town just outside Mombasa right on the beach. He spent the following years bringing his children up to University level where they promptly left to find fame and fortune in the UK. Steve became an experienced PADI Open Water Dive Instructor, he taught all of his kids to dive, swim, wakeboard, sail, fish and water-ski not necessarily in that order. For the next few years, he taught new divers the skills of the Open Water Course and explored the coast of East Africa. Steve has well over 1000 dives to his name, has dived the whole length of the Coast from the tip of Mozambique to the border of Somalia. Steve also has an Offshore Yacht Masters Certificate and a National Power Boat Certificate. In the early 2000's Steve opened a marina on the coast of Kenya where he built and repaired sailing boats, power boats, and wooden Dhows. He then sailed the length of Kenya and Tanzania in a 32-foot wooden Dhow having many adventures on the way. Steve owns a boat and enjoys fishing, diving, exploring and everything the ocean has to offer. Steve Braker has launched a series of books based on his knowledge of the African Coastline the people and the places he has visited. William Brody is an ex-Special Boats Service Major who had a bad mission in Somalia. He retires from the service and ends up in Pemba an Island off the coast of Tanzania where the diving and fishing are to die for. He befriends a local, Hassan and their family and then falls into many adventures all of which require his skills from the Special Boat Service and more. Brody and his eclectic crew of Hassan and Gumbao, end up heading into treacherous waters and many adventures, with just his skills from the Special Boat Service and whatever he can find to use he manages to get them all into scrapes and then survive to fight another day. --This text refers to the paperback edition.
