Robin Storey has pulled off a book that balances romance, suspense and humour in the highly enjoyable AN AFFAIR WITH DANGER. This is a well-written romantic suspense novel that kept me glued to my Kindle. NicShef Reading, Amazon top 100 reviewer.
I really enjoyed this story. The author knows how to blend romance, suspense and an appropriate amount of humor to keep me reading late into the night. Bb reviews.
I don't want to give a spoiler for this cleverly written and crafted story. The characterisation is excellent, the hero is endearing without being twee or too macho and the women in his life - Sarah and the extraordinary Frankie - play their parts with conviction. Diana M. Hockley, author.
This story hooked me in. It's very well written, the characters have depth and are believable. Yes it's dark in places but it's balanced with some humour & wit. Leeza Baric, author.--This text refers to the paperback edition.

When corporate lawyer Will McPherson is held up in an armed robbery, his life changes in ways he’d never dreamed of. He goes to court to give evidence and upon meeting the thief's girlfriend Frankie Slater, he is instantly captivated.
AN AFFAIR WITH DANGER is an intriguing, well-developed story that contains many surprises - most of all the ending. Will and Frankie were standouts. The author captured the flavour of these individuals and conveyed them beautifully.
It is a love story at the core, yet depicts the realities of being stuck in life and feeling trapped. The epilogue took my breath away - I could hear the music. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The author gifted it to me for an honest review. 5 solid stars.

The hero lawyer, Will, is what you might call an ordinary bloke, plodding along in a job he hates until he is one of the victims of a holdup in a convenience store. How he becomes entangled with the life of the perpetrator is the plot of this novel. Frankie - the girlfriend of abusive violent Eddie, the armed robber - is searching for her brother and asks Will to help her.
He does and thereby sets the scene for the future.
I don't want to give a spoiler for this cleverly written and crafted story. The characterisation is excellent, the hero is endearing without being twee or too macho and the women in his life - Sarah and the extraordinary Frankie - play their parts with conviction.
The plot covers eight years, however the author has truncated this by bouncing across the time, but the interim is covered by Will in first person, thereby using a flowing narrative, which does not break up the story.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would be happy to read more of this Australian author's work.
