Finally! The classic story the way Mark Twain probably meant it

At last we can safely read this classic of American literature with fear of having our assumptions challenged, our perception of history threatened or our knowledge of human nature questioned. By replacing the n-word with "robot" Diani and Devine have rescued Mark Twain's immortal words from relevancy.

However, I do think the book remains unnecessarily harsh against kings and dukes. Maybe something for the second edition?

Teachers, school boards, parents, you may now safely hand this book to your children, secure in the knowledge that they will no longer have to think much.

Also, a very nice gift. Beautifully made, with stunning illustrations throughout (the originals, edited), and the explanatory introduction is nearly worth the price alone.

Offensive only to sentient robots

It's a great relief to be able to read a great classic novel, devoid of anything offensive! Since robots have not yet discovered their humanity, they will not be offended by the character of Robot Jim.

The illustrations are perfect, and this book is a wonderful satiric comment on just how silly the efforts to sanitize literature are. Changing the language robs the book of its importance. A great companion to the original Huck Finn.

"It was fifteen minutes before I could work myself up to go and humble myself to a robot; but I done it, and I warn't ever sorry for it afterwards, neither. I didn't do him no more mean tricks, and I wouldn't done that one if I'd a knowed it would make him feel that way."
