Product description

Product Description

Memories alone can ruin you. Fear has a paralyzing effect, and love isn’t always enough to keep you safe.

Ace was the gateway to a freedom I hadn’t known since I was fifteen. He offered his protection from the demons that haunted me; both living and dead.

Although I knew I wasn’t enough to keep him, this didn’t deter my hope that one day he’d love me for who I was, not the broken girl he tried so desperately to save.

In the end, the ghosts of my past found me. Their malevolence knew no bounds, and I was forced to succumb to their will of darkness. Each threat named against those I loved made any escape impossible; choosing my life for theirs became my desolate absolution.

Inevitably, it was my own weakness and self-doubt that became my undoing.

Emotional ties are sometimes severed. Friendships don’t always endure their hardships, and love offered isn’t always returned.

I was in love once. For me, leaving her and my previous motorcycle club back in Ohio was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. For her, moving on with her life that included her son and the man she loved was no less than she deserved -- unconditional happiness.

My reasons to bring Cherry home to California were obvious. I needed help with my family, and she needed help staying clean and convincing her parents she was ready to give her son the life he deserved.

It was a perfect plan. However, the best laid plans often get lost amidst their best intentions.

Cherry fell in love with me, and in return my love for her acted as the catalyst to her destruction.

This book was ok a bit predictable but I still enjoyed it Cherry/Rae was a strong resilient character everything that happened to her was horrible Ace was controlling alpha male sometimes he annoyed me he was a bit to barbaric for me making her change clothes ect and he was so slow to admit his love for Rae his sister Sarah annoyed me bit of a whiner lol and the other side characters weren't that interesting to me so I'll stop here with this series but I would give this book 3 1/2 stars I did enjoy it

Not quite a 5 star, but pretty close!!! I was really looking forward to reading Ace's story and i wasn't disappointed. I loved Ace in previous books and loved him even more in his own story. Him and Cherry had great chemistry and i would recommend this book.

The description said this was a standalone, so I can't figure out if I was lost because details were left out or if it was not truly meant to be read by itself. There were too many unanswered questions and plot holes for this book to really work for me. The timeline was confusing at best - the characters refer to cryptic pasts with no real measure of when events took place.
The h was a prostitute and drug-user, then an MC club whore and drug-user, yet all members of the club love her enough to risk their own lives for her. She's somehow clean and sober for 99% of the book because she "wasn't an addict". The other women in the club are described as hating her at one point, but shortly thereafter are at her side after tragic events, as if they're all close.
The H used to be in a band and told the h he was the guitarist. That turns out to be untrue and everyone thinks it's funny because she doesn't know...why? What is the point of that little twist? He was also apparently married at some point, to a woman that was killed for causing some sort of trouble with the MC; that's all the info we get on that... again, why? He has some big blow out with the MC president that is mostly glossed over, but then they're still good enough friends to risk themselves for each other. For some reason, the president owes him for letting him stay at the H's apartment for 7 months, although we don't know why. Or when.
Confusing and incomplete, or else not meant to be read on its own.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thank You A.C. Baxtor for Another Great Series!! 20 October 2014

AC Baxtor has done it again...

Another great start to a new hot series of alpha men and their sexy, classy, kickass lady loves.

Ace and Cherry's story rocked from page 1 until the end. These two characters were so well written. Their friendship, strength, angst and love for each other had me turning the pages as fast as I could without setting my kindle on fire. Cherry's love for Ace was heartbreaking at times because she knew his heart still belonged to another, even though it was never going to happen for Ace. I had to put my kindle down a few times after reading heartwrenching scenes between Ace and Cherry. I wanted to reach through my kindle and smack Ace upside his head! Then, just when I thought it wasn't going to work between them I was pulled back in when Ace got cranky because Cherry left for the holiday weekend to be with her son and dad. He couldn't get rid of the ache in his chest, and he was lost without Cherry being in his bed... Ace's absolute redeeming quality throughout the book was his not sleeping with every skirt from the bar they hung out in whenever he didn't like something that Cherry said, did or didn't do.

The book was wrapped in heartbreak, ugliness, darkness, new revelations, hotness, sexiness, but most importantly, a love story.

I also really enjoyed all of the supporting characters in this book. A.C. Baxtor has an amazing talent for inter-weaving strong friends and family into her books. Both Ace and Cherry were surrounded by people who genuinely cared and loved both of them. Ace's bandmates, Cherry's parents, son and even their friends from Peril MC were important factors in their lives.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a great read. You won't be disappointed!
5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't put it down!!!! 15 October 2014

This is an amazing book!!! I could not put it down...and was up half the night reading it. We met Ace in AC Bextor ' s series Lights of Peril. You either loved him or hated him.....and I LOVED him!!!! We also met Cherry in Peril...she was a club girl....and had some horrible things happen to her that most wouldn't survive.....mentally or physically. To get on the road to recovery and move on with life Ace is heading back to California and takes Cherry with him.....ands friends....even tho they have slept together and she's secretly in love with him while he's inlove with someone else he can never have. Things go good for awhile in California....but as life goes our past always catches up with us. Ace starts to see Cherry in a new light.....but will the past get in the way before it can go anywhere?!?!

I won't give away anymore to the book except this book is a book you definately want to read and don't want to miss. It has so much emotion put in's steamy....has some violence...well deserved violence I might add....everytime I get to the end of one of AC's books I am saddened because it's over and I have fallen in love with all of her characters......I can't wait for book 2 in this series!!!!
5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book by A.C. Bextor 10 October 2014

I loved this book ! My heart was breaking for Ace in the Lights of Peril series. He was so in love with Sadey that I wasn't sure happiness would be in his future. Cherry has been so much in her short life and to be secretly in love with Ace while he was still in love with another women was painful to read. I was pulling for her to get her life on track and get her boy back. I love the Ace's friends that were introduced it this book and I am look forward to their stories especially Travis. He was such a great friend to Rea I was actually afraid he was in love with her. I just know his book is going to be heartbreaking but oh so good. I was also happy to see Hem, Sadey, Shame and Mace in this book but sad that it may be the end of their story. I will be buying Hayden's book as soon as it is released next. If you haven't read this yet or the Lights of Peril series then your missing out such great books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great book with lovable characters 4 December 2014

I love A.C. Bextor! I read the Lights of Peril series and thought they were great and it's where we meet Ace. I loved him then and I loved him even more here in Ace's Redemption. Ace, along with Cherry and a revisit from Hem, Sadie, Shame and Mace, and with the help of seconardy characters Sarah and Bean, and the boys in the band, Hayden and Travis, make this book a winner for me. The story had action and suspense, a bit of violence that was painful to experience for the characters, but not over the top where it made me want to close my Kindle like can sometimes happen in MC books. The story for me was a tale of redemption for sure and a story of commitment, and loyalty and a love story with characters that are rough around the edges, but love hard and fully. Ace was a smokin hot alpha male who protects Cherry/Raegan, and he himself didn't really get just how much he loved her until Cherry' s past comes back to haunt them. Cherry loves Ace without reservations and patiently waits, hoping that he will someday love her back. She waits while he tries to sort through his past relationship with Sadie. It is not necessary to read the Lights of Peril series first, but I would still recommend it to fully meet Ace and see how he got to where we find him in this book. It will be worth the read, as Those books are great as well! Watching these 2 damaged people working hard to come together for their HEA , was fun and touching and it made me laugh at times and made me cry at times, and made me write to the author to tell her as much and to tell her that she is doing a great job and I am putting her in my list of go to authors from this point on. By the way, she informed me that she is working on Stories for Hayden and another for Travis. Cannot wait!,
