I'm tempted to just copy and post all the words in the Thesaurus that equate to the word horrendous.
Not only did the author appear to hate her H & h, but she seems to actively encourage the reader to do so as well.
The premise sounded promising but the reality was unfunny, soul-sucking and just plain bad.
Let's start with the h; petulant. TSTL, worrisomely immature and just not very bright. It makes no sense that she has had this voice in her head since a child (only really active again when she turned 15) and that after 7 years of dealing with it she still hasn't found a way to relate/converse/manage the H. From the first chapter she fumbles around trying to deal with the voice in her head like some newbie. And the whole hitting by a taxi - woeful. Never thanking the H for saving her from the serial killer - glossed over and stubbornly petulant.
The H - all the secrets, give us a break. Hasn't he learnt after spending a 22 years in her head how to manage her? How if he says left because she's TSTL she'll always go right? Calling her baby all the time was condescending and annoying. And the whole that he might be related to her kind of had me flinching on the whole incest topic (I know it gets sorted out but it takes ages and in the meantime ick)
I gave up at the half way mark. But I'd like my money back and the five very long days it took me to get to the 50% mark. I will never read anything by this author again and caution anyone on the fence concerning this book to have 'a look inside' and judge for yourself - I fully expect by the first 'Holy Virgin of Guadalupe' that you will click the close button and move on to other more worthy efforts.
Just say no people.

No spoilers.
Strangely enough, initially I didn't wish to read the book, as I found the title somewhat off putting, incorrectly believing that it was blasphemous - glad to say that this was a silly thought on my part.
I enjoyed this one from woe to go. There are some great moments in this book, and the rest of it flows well. In especial, some of the characters were really well done (I now have favorites). I really love a book that ends the way this one did too. I'm really looking forward to reading the next one in the series.
To the author - more please, and thank you!

I loved this book! I found the plot and characters so original (which is no mean feat these days!). This book is the first in Mimi's Accidentally yours series. The series is light hearted, snarky and very, very funny!
Votan is the God of Death and War but he has been imprisoned in a Mexican cenote unable to communicate with anyone except Emma a New Yorker who thinks she is going mad having a man only she can hear inside her head since she was a young girl.
Together they free Votan or Guy as he prefers to be called and set about finding out why he was imprisoned and what has happened to his brothers and sitters.
This book has it all romance, suspense, funny one liners and best of all characters that you will grow to love!

A nice spicy romance with a healthy dash of action and a very intriguing plotline.
A little angsty at times with the he loves me / he loves me not, but not so overwhelming that it detracts from the plot.
All in all the is a Romance Novel with some teeth. No overly predictable story line like some others, and actually pretty unique in theme. I highly recommend this book for anyone who likes a good PNR with a over arching plotline that stretches through the series. I'm very interested to see where we go from here. Onwards to book 2.

I read a lot of books....and I mean a lot!......mostly paranormal romance, anything with vampires, shapeshifters or glowing aliens....Bookburb suggests 4 or 5 a day, mostly free and I get to discover new authors. Now to be fair there's a lot of mediocre writers out there who write a good yarn, but after finishing the book you're pleased you didn't pay good money for it, and some who you feel have stolen hours of your life you'll never get back!......This book isn't one of those!!
I'd read some mixed reviews about this book, but thought "what the heck" and bought it.....totally loved it...the dialogue was quick and funny and actually quite realistic. The premise was one I hadn't come across either, which makes a nice change.
If you like Jeaniene Frost, Kim Harrison and Jennifer L Armentrout, then I have no doubt you'll like this book
I will happily pay good money to buy more of this authors work, and hopefully enjoy the books as much as I did this one......in fact I think the best recommendation I can give any book, is when you've finished reading it, you want to start it all over again....and recommend it to a friend.
Try it, you'll enjoy it and have a good laugh......you'll cheer for the good Guys (intentional punn) and hiss for the Baddies

Why did I wait so long?!?!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 August 2016Verified Purchase
Okay, so I've had a book by this authour in my TBR for what feels like forever. (Don't know why. Maybe i was having a bad day, I was distracted by GOT, the cover model didn't work for me that day, her name sounded too grown up! All of the above)
I'm now kicking myself. Why the hell did I wait so long????
I'll be honest, I'm just really starting to get into the whole PNR thing (well, about a year or soooo-ish) I love it!
This book certainly disappoint. Loved the conversations between the lead characters when he was a voice in her head (how annoying would that be! I think she did bloody marvelously!)
Not going to give anything else away. Read the book!!
I have already downloaded the second when my hubby wasn't looking (I can always delete the emails)
I'm now going to stalk more of the authors work and read the one on my TBR (after i finish this series of course)
A bloody great book ☺

I'd just finished the authors King Trilogy series, which I absolutely loved, so wanted to read more of her books. I really enjoyed this, I've not read much humorous paranormal romance, but this was crazy! The internal dialogue by Emma was hilarious, especially at the start with the male voice in her head, who she calls Guy. He has no clue about women :-) They both had issues trusting each other, I just wanted them them to admit what they really thought earlier, but then I'd probably have a few issues too if I was suddenly thrust into their world!
There was a good storyline too, (and some very loveable characters I want to know more about) which I'm sure will carry on throughout the series. Looking forward now to reading the next instalment.

enjoyable read with a sexy god!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 August 2012Verified Purchase
Interesting plot about a young woman and a very sexy god. I'm a fan of the paranormal romance genre and this is a refreshing break from the usual storylines that are currently being produced. I found it easy to read and follow as the author explains and describes the supernatural beings quite well. E.g 'scabs',Gods and the Uchben. The sexual chemistry between the characters meant I read it in one sitting just to discover what happened and if they finally hooked up!
The reason why I didn't rate it a 5 star is that I found the leading lady a bit annoying at times! I found myself wanting to shout at her to not be so distrusting and childish at times... I also feel that the author could have involved the other characters more; such as her friends and parents. For example, exploring her supposed close friendship with her girlfriends and room mates. I felt like I didn't know them. If she did, then maybe it would pull at my heart strings in certain scenes. It would have also been good to explore and elaborate the love triangle. Ending felt slightly rushed but good cliff hanger so will definitely buy next one so please hurry and release it!
