The non stop action kept me up all night reading. Now Cendrilla saves the Prince but Bluebeard is hot on her trail and he was witness to the strange magic she cast. Will he use this to force her to finally wed her or will going to The Academy be her saviour or peril. A mash up of fairy tales in an exciting adventure. This is another thrilling read from Cordelia Castle. You'll want to read more of Rilla the Warrior Woman of Clement Road, Runaway Bride of the Embassador of Steppe.

I enjoyed this book, which is well-written, full of action, adventure, and lots of great characters who drive the pace of the story, keeping you hooked from beginning to end. I couldn't put the book down and read it in one sitting, and cannot wait to read the next book. Highly recommended book and series!
In Castel’s The Academy, I love the friendships she creates between Rilla and her fellow cadets, Millissa and Dora. She also creates an interesting mystery around Madam Florian and Jacques, leaving you wondering what their pasts and motives are. Furthermore, I think the pacing on this story is much better than the first of the series.
Perhaps it is on account of my love for magic school-type books, but I would have loved to see more of Rilla’s Academy classes in this book. I do think, however, that the classes Castel did describe were essential to the main plot.
Overall, I loved this new addition to the Perrault Chronicles and look forward to reading more to find out what happens to Rilla next!
