Product Description

Bonjour, my name is André Chevalier. It has been my joy and my great honor to help those who have lost their way. Not long after I began my journey, I met two such wounded souls.

Renata Koreman, my little mouse. She came to me as a child—shy, mute, injured… broken. It took oh-so many years to start to bring her back to herself! Yet, I could not fully heal her.

Years later, Grant Wilkinson, he too fell into my hands. The ex-Army Ranger was badly disfigured and saw himself as a monster. Isolated by secrets, solitary and self-contained, his colleagues affectionately named him ‘Frosty.’ Yet, how should one behave when besieged by a lifetime of confusion and guilt?

The moment I saw him, I thought of her and I wondered. The eyes, they cannot always see clearly. And the heart? Ah, the heart can only guess at the truth. So it was that I remained uncertain.

Could the mouse and the monster heal each other?

This is definitely my favourite Nikki Sex book. I know, perhaps I shouldn’t say that right off the bat but, it only took a single chapter of Abuse to come to this conclusion. Its dirty, it’s painful, it’s harsh and, at times, sick-to-your-stomach shocking. Some people will hate the book for these qualities that made me love it. Luckily you’ll know where you sit very quickly; there is no pussy footing around the nasty elements in Abuse. Like I said, I love it. I was cheering inwardly and outwardly for Nikki’s sex positive philosophy in the face of any obstacle. It’s not only refreshing, it’s also the real sex appeal of her books. The actual sex parts are incredible too, but I’d expect nothing less from a woman who is able to tell a beautiful and compelling story with 10, 000 plus words devoted this BDSM fantasy. (
Nikki is a prolific witter, already greatly skilled and getting better with each book. Her characters are delightful, intelligent and exquisitely unique. Abuse is no exception. It tells the story of Grant and Renata- referred to in chapter segments as The Monster and the Mouse- who both need despretly to be healed from their pasts. We are introduced to their horrific histories, which include of every kind of abuse on the god awful spectrum and watch as they work with councillor extraordinaire Andre to put themselves back together. Andre is Nikki’s reoccurring character in all of her books, he is a charmingly French sex therapist and the champion-of-all-things-sex-positive*. It is very satisfying when Renata and Grant confront old fears and fall in love. Then life intervenes with problems which of course won’t be resolved until next book.

Nikki once again brings stunningly vivid characters to life immersing the reader into the world she creates and dragging our emotions out of us - willing or no!

Abuse introduces us to new characters while satisfying our Andre itch. This may well be my favourite Nikki Sex book as the new characters of Renata and Grant are rich with complexity and completely draw you in. This book was hard to put down!

There are some strong themes in this book (as the title suggests) which are handled brilliantly and with gentle sincerity. I was very impressed with Nikki's insight into mental health issues and found the treatment she gave to some difficult situations very enlightening and sensitive.

It's not often in this genre you find a book with such depth. If you are sick of the shallow crap the erotica genre often churns out - this book will certainly give you what you crave...

Forget any other romance you've ever read and get ready for a thoroughly thought provoking piece that will have you sitting up straight and taking notice!

You have two incredibly damaged characters who are brought together by the wonderful Andre' Chevalier, you learn of their heartbreaking individual stories and watch how their joint story gradually unfurls and blossoms.

You can not read this and walk away without a better understanding of how abuse affects the human psyche. It hurts to read of such pain and yet there is hope with recovery and the possibility of love.

This is a wonderful read for fans of Nikki, lovers of Andre' and anyone wanting to read something more than a simple romance.

This was a pretty gripping read. Having never experienced "abuse" I don't know what sorts of things people go through but this one seemed like it was dealt with in a respectful manner.

I am not really sure what I was expecting when I bought this book to be truthful. I actually can't even recall if I read the blurb? I was a little taken aback at the start and had to find out if was going to be a male/ male story (which I wasn't sure I was in the mindset for). I mean find out by skipping ahead in the story and not actually reading it and then reading the blurb again and some of the reviews for Abuse.

Then I put the book down for a couple of days.

I picked it up again today and read the whole book. I am glad I did. The story is deep and the characters were well written. It is not a light read but neither is it dark and gritty. It felt a bit like someone writing about their difficult and ugly past and finding the strength to seek answers. It was a positive story and I would definitely read part two.

Cliffhanger? YES!
