In both books the hero and heroine spent too time apart. Being miserable without each other, the details of their days was drudgery. The story dragged. You would think with him at least it would be interesting because he is an enforcer but it just wasn’t. She is mad and scared. He is angry and violent. She is depressed. He is depressed. She feels helpless and eventually he does as well.
Then after they finally reconnect something happens and due to him they are apart yet again. It definitely disappointed me how long it took him to man up, until the end of the book. Honestly he never would’ve approached her thr last time if his uncle didn’t force him. Just sad.
So why stars instead of one? For several reasons. For one there was no smex with OP after meeting and both celibate during the separations. The other reason is that the sex scenes in both books were good.
This series keeps getting better. The chemistry, the angst, the suspense. It was all perfectly balanced. I found myself cheering for them to get their crap together because I knew they were destined for each other.
I'm really needing Salvatore's story ASAP. The author says it's happening which makes me so very happy.so many other chapters need stories too. Highly recommend this duet and the whole series.
