If you're a computer hardware guru and suspect you know what the issue is, feel free to ignore this review. If not, save yourself the struggle a week into your build and just buy a different card.
I was only able to get 10 mp/s Download and 5 mb/s upload (After updating to the latest driver!) This makes working and using the internet impossibly slow.
After pluggin in an ethernet cable I was able to get the full 700mb/s download and 500mb/s upload that my office offers.
Returned the card after making this discovery. If you are looking to connect to Wifi, look elsewhere as this will be far too slow.
Update: It's been about a year I've been using this wifi card now. Everything has been fine until today. I brought my pc to work and it wouldn't connect to the wifi network. After trying a few things I relented and uninstalled the device to allow it to re-obtain the drivers. That was a mistake. My PC now refuses to detect the card at all and not one thing I have tried has helped. I am forced to accept that after only a year of use either this card has quit working or there is an issue with my PCI-e slot. My money is on the card having died.
Now the connection is maxxed out at around 5mb/s. No changes made prior to that. I reinstalled the driver, rebooted, no change in performance. I've tested other wireless devices and they work fine, trying to find the root problem.... not fun :(
I had one instance where the connection was dropping to 1mb/s and not allowing any more bandwidth. I restarted the computer and still didn't make a difference. I updated the driver and its been fine since. Great product. No issues for several weeks.
