Product Description

For a thousand years the Milgari have chased Man across the stars...

In a distant galaxy, humans are on the run. For centuries they have fled from an enemy that is bent on their annihilation. The only real defense is their home, a great station called the Grid with a faster than light drive that is unmatched for speed. Don is a Messenger not a hero. But ordinary men sometimes have a way of rising to a challenge. War is again coming and fate will place Don smack in the middle of another all out fight for Man's survival. Is Man ready for the 43rd Milgari war?

Also available from this author:

A six-book series that takes Man from his first encounter with aliens all the way to a fight for our all-out survival. Do we have what it takes to rule the galaxy?

AMP Series

Cast a thousand years into the future beyond SODIUM. This eight-book series chronicles the struggles of Don Grange, a simple package deliveryman, who is thrust into an unimaginable role in the fight against our enemies. Can we win peace and freedom after a thousand years of war?

OMEGA Series

Cast a thousand years into the future beyond AMP. The Alliance is crumbling. When corruption and politics threaten to throw the allied galaxies into chaos, Knog Beutcher gets caught in the middle. Follow along as our hero is thrust into roles that he never expected or sought. Espionage, intrigue, political assassinations, rebellions and full-on revolutions, they are all coming to Knog Beutcher's world!

HADRON is a modern day story unrelated to the SODIUM-AMP-OMEGA trilogy series. After scientists using the Large Hadron Collider discover dark matter, the world is plunged into chaos. Massive waves of electromagnetic interference take out all grid power and forms of communication the world over. Cities go dark, food and water supplies are quickly used up, and marauders rule the highways. One group of citizens takes a stand. Can they make a difference? And the devastating EM waves, where are they coming from? After months of starvation, a benevolent species arrive in their spaceships to rescue the Human race. Only, are they really so benevolent?

ARMS Series

ARMS is set in the future after Earth was nearing an apocalyptic event. Two competing colony ships were built, taking five million inhabitants each through a wormhole to a pair of newly discovered planets. The planets were settled and not long after the colonies looked to the surrounding star systems for ownership and expansion, which led to a centuries long war between them. A truce was declared after the aggressor side began to lose ground.

Tawnish Freely and Harris Gruberg are genetically engineered Biomarines. Their lives have been dedicated to fighting the war. They find themselves struggling to find work among a population that fears them. Work is found only by delving into the delivery of illegal arms to the outer colonies. Things go awry when they discover their illicit dealings may just be the catalyst that brings back the Great War. They are determined to prevent that from happening.

5.0 out of 5 stars How can the author continue to keep his Characters, Weapons, Battles and Situations so fresh? 12 April 2016
By THE HOLEY ONE - Published on

Sometimes when I get ready to write a review I have to think; "Should this get a four or five star Rating?" There was no question at all with another of Stephen Aesenault's excellent books. I just discovered him a short while ago and I'm fortunate in one respect. I don't have to wait for the next book in the series to come out. While I enjoy being an early reader of new and developing author's works I especially enjoy being to read a series like this from beginning to end. If you're anything like me, you read a lot...atleast two books a week (or more). If I have to wait for a few months between books, I find the many books I've read in the same genre can distort the clarity of my memory.
There are a lot of good authors and great books out there and I'm fortunate to have found many that I really like. I'm rather protective of my limited time; at 70 + I've been told I have mory Yesterday's than Tomorrow's. Therefore, unless the book I begin reading is at least worthy of a Four Star Rating, I move on unless I'm reading a Free Book I've been asked to review. Those will either get a published four star or better reviewor, if less than a four star I'll give a private review to this new author.
It's become my style to NOT give a "HS Book-Report" type review. The author's all provide adequate descriptions of their story - Plot Line. Instead, I'll tell you what I especially liked about the Book / Story. I was so impressed with the realism of this story. I knew it was Sci-Fi but it felt so real. The battles (many) were always new and fresh with situation specific Tactics. Tom Clancy could give great detail about much of the science he wrote about but, to see this kind of realistic description for Fiction "Science" is very impressive. Hey, I'm not trying to say I understood it; I AM saying it was presented in an Understandable manner. The number of different weapons and the defences against them, and those deployed by Aliens, was impressive as well.
I can't imagine how the author can continue to keep his Characteries, Weapons, Battles and stories so fresh. As long as he does, he'll continue to get the best possible ratings from me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gotta like an author who believes he will hook you if you just give the series a chance 24 December 2013

I passed on this series several times....and was surprised how much I enjoyed the read. The story is outside the traditional military science fiction one reads--and a little lacking in the tactics and strategy department--but it doesn't suffer as a result. There is plenty of action mixed with humor--the story flows. I give the author credit for offering the first book for free--it is a put up or shut approach--and (for me at least) it worked. I will be buying the next book in the series (and happy to do so).

3.0 out of 5 stars A decent read 17 September 2014

The story was OK -to-good. I enjoy sci-fi, but this reading started off a little slow and became somewhat of a "weird" page turner. Some events felt rushed and I was able to enjoy the ending. However, once I realized the ending would be a "cliffhanger", I researched how many more books there are. I decided to leave my foray into this sci-fi adventure at just the first book.

If you are into sci-fi and would like to try something different from the usual and popular (ex: Star Wars, Star Trek, etc), then this is a decent read for that, although there will be some elements of similarity. Just be prepared to delve into the entire saga with the remaining books. This will go beyond your typical trilogy of books.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very good story. 22 February 2014

Good scenario, imaginative and fresh. Could not stop reading. But I find it too pro-weapons for my taste. I would have given it more stars if it was not referring to army and weapons all the time .. (I am reading the 4th, will probably stop here for this reason). Otherwise, worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great space opera the likes of which I have not seen since E.E. "Doc" Smith 16 August 2015

A space opera at its finest, Don Grange, along with his Gambit engineer Frig, is a Messenger, trying to make a living by hauling people and cargo across the Human sphere. Through a series of lucky chances and good planning, he ends up with a life few could even dream of. He's always just one step ahead of his foes, and often escapes by the skin of his teeth.
I like hard science, and this definitely fits the bill. While virtually everything is way beyond our scientific knowledge today, none of it is completely outside of the realms of possibility. And every discovery leads to another one. Fast paced and full of interesting characters, this is a must read.
I got the first book free on Amazon, but within a month I had bought and devoured the other seven, also, often staying up late at night (much to my wife's chagrin) reading. If you like space operas, you'll love this series.
