ARMS Series

ARMS is set in the future after Earth was nearing an apocalyptic event. Two competing colony ships were built, taking five million inhabitants each through a wormhole to a pair of newly discovered planets. The planets were settled and not long after the colonies looked to the surrounding star systems for ownership and expansion, which led to a centuries long war between them. A truce was declared after the aggressor side began to lose ground.

Tawnish Freely and Harris Gruberg are genetically engineered Biomarines. Their lives have been dedicated to fighting the war. They find themselves struggling to find work among a population that fears them. Work is found only by delving into the delivery of illegal arms to the outer colonies. Things go awry when they discover their illicit dealings may just be the catalyst that brings back the Great War. They are determined to prevent that from happening.

5.0 out of 5 stars How big is the Galaxy 18 January 2014
By Jileah Sampson - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
In the continuing war with the Milgari, surprising facts surface. It seems the Milgari are being manipulated for another species gain. A great tale of how to reverse how the Milgari are being used, gaining allies from species that aren't human(but with the same greed for money and power as humans), new technologic discoveries, and how humans can become a family even when not DNA is shared. As the war progresses, a species they know little about, the Durians, seem to have their hand in the war on both sides. But what is the benefit for the Durians? Are they wanting profits or is there something else they want?

Grange fights himself constantly because he doesn't believe himself to be a leader. His closest friend, Frig, and his Defiant Nation's new council are always having to remind him how they all came together to fight for the Grid (the only home Humans have known for 1000 years). Grange finds new realities in himself as to his feelings for all who are fighting for Humanity and for freedom for all species in this region of the Galaxy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another enjoyable read. 19 June 2014
By Starfire - Published on Amazon.com

Once again I had the pleasure of an enjoyable read from Stephen Arseneault.

Many things were resolved in this edition of the series. I almost felt like I was at the end of a trilogy, but the ending didn't disappoint. While a lot of things were wrapped up for Don Grange, you could tell another story was developing in the last pages. It was kind of like watching a movie and seeing at the end, how they set it up for a sequel.

I have to say that I really like Don Grange. I also enjoy reading about his relationship with Frig.

I could have lived without the small arms sound effects. I don't mind them every so often for affect, but not through entire fight/battle scenes.

Hey... the story is sometimes predictable and not always realistic, but simply a good entertaining story to read. It kept me entertained, and it engaged my imagination. So, don't over think it, just enjoy the read!

I will be reading Amp #4, Rebellion soon.

5.0 out of 5 stars From the pan to thw fire....maybe 21 December 2013
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com

I originally just wanted to read the first free Kindle book but was soon enjoying not only the story but the relationship between Grange and Frig so I bought the other two books and read one of them immediately straight through. The comraderie written between them would often bring a smile and eventually, a brotherly love between them became apparent through the writing. I know writers love to stand on there own but Arseneault has created TWO characters on par with Simon Green's character in the Nightshade series. These last three books in the Amp series rate up there with it. I hope too see more "CHUCK-ABLE" interaction between Don and Frig...HECK I HOPE TO GET THE NEXT KINDLE VERSIONS FREE! Keep them coming Steve, and if you should ever need a "FIRST READER" for your books for input before release, I'm your man! David Franklin

5.0 out of 5 stars AMP Series 3 September 2016
By C. A. Isbell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
A series that takes Man from his first encounter with aliens all the way to a fight for our all-out survival. Do we have what it takes to rule the galaxy? Obviously, aliens don't think humans matter at all. They mistreat us and our planet as if we don't even exist! You have to read these in order: SODIUM, AMP, then OMEGA.

4.0 out of 5 stars Much is revealed & victory achieved 10 August 2015
By Dr. Dad - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The deception of the nefarious alien race is thwarted and tech advances in weapons and speed shift the balance of power. As the treachery on the Grid is exposed and the alien antagonists defeated, there is new hope for peace. Frig has a big role in decoding and developing wormhole generators. The epilogue cleverly sets up the next book. Start at AMP Book 1 - this is not a standalone story. Read the Omega series after AMP.
