Unlike the other dramatisations of the books in this beautifully written series, the precis-like minimisation of the book itself is sketchy and does not give an impression of the beauty of Pullman's prose. I was deeply disappointed and had to buy the book itself to get any sort of satisfaction from the long-awaited ending.
Did the author himself ok the dramatisation?
I would be surpirsed if he is happy with this bastardisation of his text!
