The peace and tranquility of a fine, clear morning in downtown San Francisco is shattered by an explosion in a townhouse where at least two people are killed, several wounded and a tiny baby girl is kidnapped. A note is found shortly after by the authorities identifying a group calling themselves August Spies who claim responsibility for the attack.
Events transpire, time passes, leads are chased down. The private lives of the four women that comprise the WOMEN'S MURDER CLUB are revealed in small doses and at once the reader's heart will break at the moment your eyes run over that part of your kindle screen. Hopes for a successful resolution soar however when the baby girl is found in a public restroom but the reader is both glad to realise there are hundreds of pages left to go in this action packed story, and yet, they are almost afraid to wonder what else can happen to the brave characters in the story as they fight the elements in order to track down the sick, perverted mass murderers.
Mr Patterson's writing style has proved to be incredibly popular for decades and this book, the 3rd in this incredibly popular series, is no different. The dialogue and narration overall is quick and easy to read and the story will remain relevant for many years. The interaction between the characters is highly entertaining, and even borders on being humorous at certain points.
In summary, this book is worthy of an easy four stars for me. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
