#10days #findthewoman #getthejob #doNOTfallinlove

"Child star and hilarious hot mess Maizie Albright trades Hollywood for the backwoods of Georgia and pure delight ensues. Maizie’s my new favorite escape from reality.”
— Gretchen Archer, USA Today bestselling author of the Davis Way Crime Caper series

“I was already a huge fan of Larissa Reinhart’s Cherry Tucker series, but in her new mystery series, FIFTEEN MINUTES, she had me at the end of the first line: 'Donuts.' Maizie Albright is the kind of fresh, fun, and feisty 'star detective' I love spending time with, a kind of Nancy Drew meets Lucy Ricardo. Move over, Janet Evanovich. Reinhart is my new 'star mystery writer!' — Penny Warner, Author of DEATH OF A CHOCOLATE CHEATER and THE CODE BUSTERS CLUB

"Hollywood glitz meets backwoods grit in this fast-paced ride on D-list
celeb Maizie Albright's waning star—even as it's reborn in a spectacular
collision with her nightmarish stage mother, her
deer-pee-scented-apparel-inventing daddy...and a murderer. Sassy, sexy, and
fun, 15 Minutes is hours of enjoyment—and a wonderful start to a fun new
series from the charmingly Southern-fried Reinhart.”
— Phoebe Fox, author of THE BREAKUP DOCTOR series

“Larissa Reinhart’s newest heroine, Maizie Albright, is at once naïve and worldly. As a former child star, she craves life in the real world by becoming a PI, just like the TV character that made her famous. Armed with humor, charm, and stubborn determination, Maizie is a breath of fresh air. I adored every second of 15 Minutes. Viva la Maizie!” — Terri L. Austin, bestselling author of the ROSE STRICKLAND MYSTERIES and the NULL FOR HIRE series.

When ex-teen star Maizie Albright returns to her Southern hometown of Black Pine, Georgia, she hoped to rid herself of Hollywood tabloid and reality show hell for a new career as a private investigator. Instead, Hollyweird follows her home. Maizie’s costar crushing, but now for her gumshoe boss. Her stage-monster mother still demands screen time. Her latest rival wants her kicked off the set, preferably back to a California prison.

By entangling herself in a missing person's case, she must reprise her most famous role. The job will demand a performance of a lifetime. But this time, the stakes are real and may prove deadly.

5.0 out of 5 stars The "Amazing" Maizie Albright! 24 January 2017

I was given a free ARC in exchange for an honest review. Having read and loved all of Larissa Reinhart's Cherry Tucker mysteries, I was excited to meet Maizie Albright, former teen detective on television and currently unemployed, hoping to become a real-life detective. She's gone to college to become a private detective and has some "skills" from her television career, but there's a problem: some bad choices in California have her in a bind -- the judge has given her ten days to find a job. Nash Securities seems the perfect solution except the owner doesn't need or want to hire anyone, especially a talkative, former teen star who too frequently shares TMI. Maize can't afford to be dissuaded, so she uses every asset she has, including her popularity, to get her foot in the door. What happens next is non-stop action and humor as her hometown life, essential career-to-be, and former television career collide. Maize is hysterical, resourceful, talkative in a way that begs for duct tape, and smart in ways she doesn't realize. The cast of characters surrounding her are unique and unforgettable as she is, especially Nash and Lamar. The case Maizie tries to help Nash solve is so full of twists and turns that I was completely surprised at the end. I highly recommend 15 Minutes, A Maizie Albright Star Detective. It was so much fun to read, and I found Maizie irresistible! I can't wait for 16 Millimeters, the second in this delightful, new series.

5.0 out of 5 stars Maizie=Marvelous 16 January 2017

I love Larissa Reinhart’s Cherry Tucker series. When I learned she was writing a new series I knew I had to read it too. Maizie Albright didn’t disappoint!
The book starts with Maizie trying to get a job as an apprentice detective at Nash Security Solutions. Maizie, a former teen detective star, had recently been sent to live with her father and ordered to get a job that wasn’t in the movie/television industry. If she doesn’t she could go to jail in California for some trouble she got in while living there.
Maizie quickly involves herself in one of Mr. Nash’s cases and ends up getting Mr. Nash in trouble with Mr. Waverly, an important man in town. It was Maizie job to watch Mr. Waverly’s wife, and now she is missing. Maizie feels guilty and is determined to find Sarah Waverly. In Maizie’s attempts to help she manages to end up walking down the road with clothes torn by a dog, interview a woman who flashes her, and gets locked in a phone booth. Those are just a few things that go wrong in the investigation. On top of all that, Maizie’s agent/mother is determined that Maizie will continue the reality television show and has the Albright crew follow her everywhere. When Maizie, flanked by her unlikely friends, Rhonda and Tiffany, follow Nash to Savannah, they discover a dead body. As Maizie rushes to find Nash she discovers what really happened to Sarah.
You can’t help but love Maizie. She is a young woman trying to find herself outside of Hollywood and without the overpowering influence of her agent/mother. She is smart, insecure, and persistent. The situations she gets herself into will keep you laughing.
I can’t wait until the next Maizie Albright book!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.
4.0 out of 5 stars Humor Mystery and Romance 18 May 2017

Maizie Albright is quite a character. She's 25 years old and still has a problem standing up to her mother. You'll understand why when you read the book. Her mother is a professional agent and boss and has spent her time telling her child star daughter what to do and when to do it. This, of course, has led Maizie to rebel and wind up on probation with an order from the judge to secure employment within ten days of her release and her freedom relies on staying away from Hollywood and former associates. Maizie winds up living in Black Pine, Georgia with her down to earth father and his new family.

This book is very entertaining. I enjoyed the protagonist Maizie and her delightful spirit. She played a teen detective on t.v. and decided this would be her new career. She talked her way into a non-paying apprenticeship in a one man detective agency, Nash Security Solutions. Her new situation is complicated by her mother who shows up in Black Pine with a camera crew that begins to film Maizie for a new reality show.

The mystery is good with lots of surprises. I didn't figure out the killer. The characters were well developed. This book reminded me of the old madcap caper movies right down to the romantic give and take of the stars. I definitely recommend this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quirky new character is great 6 March 2017

What a fun book to read! It was full of surprises and Maizie Albright is wonderful. She's a mix between Nancy Drew, Paris Hilton, and Daisy Mae (from Lil Abner). I know I date myself with that last one. Her name-dropping of famous clothes designers whenever she meets someone or changes her own outfit is priceless and her desire to become the grown-up version of her teenage TV personality is heart warming. I look forward to reading more of Maizie's adventures with her hunky boss. (I never guessed the killer until the reveal.)

5.0 out of 5 stars I love Larissa Reinhart's newest amateur sleuth 25 January 2017

I love Larissa Reinhart's newest amateur sleuth. Maizie is a breath of fresh air. Full of determination, she stumbles her way through an investigation, hellbent on starting a new life away from the spotlight. But when the Hollywood comes to her, not only does she have to dodge her momager, she has to prove to PI Nash that she's not just a lightweight actress, but a force to be reckoned with. Five funny, feisty stars!
